In what was seen as a highly contested election between the incumbent Governor of the PDP and his top rival Osagie Ize-Iyamu-Iyamu of the APC. The electoral empire INEC has now declared the PDP candidate the winner of the election. Godwin Obaseki of People’s Democratic Party has been declared winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday. Governor Obaseki polled a total of 307, 955 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress’s Osagie Ize-Iyamu-Iyamu who secured 223, 619 votes.
