Ize-Iyamu Becomes First Edo Guber Candidate To Lose Elections In PDP, APC by Brika: 6:24am On Sep 21, 2020
The former Secretary to Edo State Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged the first governorship Candidate in the State to lose governorship elections in Edo State commutatively within four years.

Featured24 recalls that he lost his first governorship election to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, who was Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in September 25, 2016.

Four years after the his defeat, Ize-Iyamu, picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship and contested the second time against the incumbent Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki who by default became the Candidate of PDP in Saturday governorship election.

In the election, Prof. Agofure Rukeh of Federal University of Petroleum Technology, Efurun, returned the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki re-elected after he polled 307,955 votes ahead of his closest rival who secured 223,619 votes in the just concluded governorship election in the State.

Ize-Iyamu is renowned for his popular Campaign mantra, ‘No man is God’, lost to Obaseki who disqualified to seek re-election on the platform of APC with 84,336 valid votes cast in the election which was contested by 14 political parties.

The All Progressives Party (APC), has rejected results of Saturday governorship election in Edo State, a move the party supporters and some members of the party believe could tip their cause to the right.

Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr. John Mayaki in a statement he issued on Sunday, cited alleged strong arm tactics.

The party, urged members to stay calm and thanked them for their support, but, alleged foul play while party leaders study the result and decide what is next.

Recall that the former National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who followed for the APC Candidate across the State ahead of the September 19, 2020 election, had repeatedly boasted that the PDP will never govern Edo State while he is alive.

Only Ortom of Venue and Tambuwal of Sokoto State have won with both APC and PDP.

Okorocha defeated the then incumbent governor Ikedi Ohakim with APGA in 2007 and later defected to APC. He still won his reelection in APC after defeating PDP in 2015.

I wonder why people are commending buhari's fulani regime for the free and fair elections in Edo state. The word 'Free and Fair' does not exist in their vocabulary. The regime did nothing in Edo because a win for PDP and Obaseki in particular will set the motion for political destruction of anyone associated with Tinubu. That's the ONLY reason why Obaseki won the election free and fair.
If the fulani regime really wanted Edo in their grab, they will RIG the election, but a win for Iyamu will only cement Tinubu's political dynasty. Since they don't like Tinubu, they allowed the will of Edo people to prevail.
South west people should know that the Fulani mafia ruling the regime hates Tinubu and have declared war on him. If Nigeria makes it to 2023, Tinubu will become a political liability. He should forget his 2023 presidential election move now because he wont even have the chance to compete in APC party primary let alone contest 2023 general election. Floating a new party will not even save Tinubu as the fulani regime will frustrate it to political demise.
Tinubu will have a better political clowd if he denounce Fulani Cabals ruling Nigeria now!

DISINTEGRATION OF NIGERIA WILL SAVE MILLIONS OF LIVES FROM STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM! SUPPORT IT.

The man's desperation led to all this unparalleled records
Hope the Redeem Church under Pastor Adeboye will really counsel Ize Iyamu against most of his ungodly conducts before & after the guber elections?

I think the result is more of a referendum on the ruling party at federal level. I thought iyamu would make it going by his more impressive campaign crowds and better performance in the channels debate I watched. Maybe poor voters turn out at 25% also worked more against him. He couldn't have also matched the spending of his opponents who had the state treasury in addition to more supporting governors across both parties. It's good to see that people's votes counted. That's the way to go. Truth is so many are disenchanted with the ruling party now. If only the alternative party can start grooming credible candidates now instead of recycling same failures, 2023 will see more of this change.
