But the fact is :Buhari deserves to be commended for not applying federal might to alter the electoral process. When I read the comments of some Obaseki' supporters here on nairaland, they were attributing the non use of the federal might by the FG to the alleged "US visa ban". And that was completely not the case. Was there "US visa ban threat" when INEC(which the FG could manupulate ) banned APC from participating in the last election in Rivers state?. Was there any threat of US visa ban when FG didn't apply federal might to manipulate the election in Anambra state during governor Obiano's re-election?. After the election, the governor publicly commended and thanked Buhari for his transparency and nonpartisan politics during the election. Was there any US visa ban threat when INEC decleard APC's primary election in Zamfara null and void which the Supreme court later uphelled and the then APC governor was sacked and replaced by a PDP governor?
But the fact is, I know for sure the APC political caucus that went to Edo wanted to alter the election to their favour but didn't get the support of the federal government.. And that was why Obaseki also commended and thanked Buhari for allowing a free and fair election after he was decleared winner. Anyway, congratulations to governor Obesiki. He should try and deliver the dividend of democracy to his people during his second tenure. He shouldn't be deceived and manipulated by political sycophants!!!!.

The statement from the US was the last straw needed to break the camel's back and truly it did.

It was on the strength of that US warning that Lauretta Onochie warned against name dropping (using Buhari's name to coerce others to do their bidding). This worked in the past as nobody was ready to face EFCC or other attack dogs.

Nigerians seems not to understand who Buhari is. Buhari is gradually trying to destroy the APC in order to pave the way for a northerner who will take over from him as president. APC is bound to present a southerner as 2023 candidate which Buhari will never support.
