WhizdomXX:
The apathy in Nigeria's elections is getting two much. Come to think of it how can barely 530,000 people decide the future of a State with over 5 million. 10% of the State is determine the future of 100% of the State's residents. A western observer would assume they're disenfranchised but we all know it's because majority Nigerians no longer trust the government/politicians be ye APC or PDP. This is bad. Average turnout for an election should be 67%(2/3). Anything short of that shows apathy, higher figures show a good democratic governance interested citizenry and that is how we want Nigeria's election to be like.

NIGERIA MUST BE GREAT AGAIN. GOD HELP US

Once again, congrats to Mr. Godwin Obaseki

Dude as things are going, soon only politicians, their families and hangers-on will be voting.

But politicians are too busy grabbing money to see the danger in it. First is apathy, then protest followed by revolution.

Confidence in politicians mirrored in voters' turn out ebbing by over 5% in 4 years, Extremely bad.

People are losing interest in Nigeria's political failures and hence apathy in electorate or voting became inevitable.

From what obscurity if I may ask? Do you know the meaning of the word obscurity? Do you know the Obaseki family in Benin? Let me mention a few 1. Jackson Gaius Obaseki 2. Late Dr.Owen Obaseki 3. Pedro Obaseki 4. Late Justice Otutu Obaseki(of the supreme court of Nigeria)kindly Google these names.
Back to your write up Prior to becoming Governor Obaseki has already been doing well for himself in the private sector he and his friends supported Oshoimole in 2007 same way Oshomoile supported him, he's not in anyway indebted to him(Oshomoile). After all show me a successful person in life and politics that was not assisted in one way or the other.

If Not for federal Might and irregularities in previous Edo state elections... Edo state has always been PDP imaging a whole EDO central the Esans PDP 5/5.. Nobody knew that this election was going to be free and fair..We were thinking that Oshomole was going to do some magic in other to make the garri rise.. So most of us lost interest.. I bet you if INEC will conduct election this free and fair nobody will be left at home.. Everyone will come out and vote.

shocked shocked shocked shocked

Pls ask him again and again because I don't understand all these empty noise.

Edo said No to godfatherism and bin apc with their devilish act pls end of story.

The next line of action is Ondo no be Lagos then next Osun no be Lagos and on and on. APC at the cetral had really upset Nigerians with their democratic junta regime and for these reason that party must be annihilated in Nigeria forever.

This is terrible for our politics, especially with those who refuse being the greatest wailers for dividends of democracy. Democracy that they did not work for. Sowed nothing but want to reap something. Are they also thieves like the politicians they criticise?

Why should INEC do anything about it?
Moghalu, Ezekwesili, Utomi, Durotoye and the other jobless noisemakers should do that from now with massive sensitisation schemes instead of being emergency candidates six months to the lections.

IGNORANT Man, go and bury your head in shame! May I asked you, are you from Edo state? What do you know about Edo politics? Between Oshiomole and OBASEKI who should be grateful to each other? Where were you when Oshiomole was a common factory worker at Arewa Textiles Ltd, Kaduna? Who are those you think backed him up to become Union Secretary-General at both the local and National levels? -The Edo people, of course! Fast forward, where were you when Oshiomole ran to OBASEKI in 2007 for help? Or where were you when OBASEKI, through his connections and friends, raised over N300m to finance Oshiomole's governorship bid for Edo state and, he made sure Oshiomole won? Was that not what gave Oshiomole the courage to voiced that, "he had defeated GODFATHERISM in Edo state?" So, between Oshiomole and Obaseki who is now an ingrate? If you don't know something, you should always asked and STOP saying what you don't know.

Oshiomhole bit off more than he could chew but the report is too simplistic. In 2016 the local governments POI won were mostly from his Esan stronghold. in 2020 the local governments he won were from edo north oshiomhole's political base. if POI had won the local govts he delivered in 2016 he would have coasted to victory so saying adams was of no benefit to POI votes wise is a bit of a stretch
