naptu2:
Foreign correspondent: - Godfrey Odu and Lola Ogunbambi (usually reporting from Geneva or Vienna).

Newscasters: - Ronke Ayuba (smiley ) Elizabeth Nze ( smiley ) John Momoh, Waheed Olagunju, Patrick Oke, Funmi Odubekun, Ruth Benamaisia, Sienne Allwell-Brown, Hauwa Baba Ahmed, Donald Ovberedjo (The Don, he was also an excellent cricketer), Bimbo Oloyede, Cyril Stober, Tokunboh Ajai, etc.

State House: - Segun Aderiye ( "State House, Dodan Barracks" smiley ), Ladan Salihu, Sola Atere.

Wierd, humorous, crazy and thought provoking stories: - Frank Olize (I originally thought that nobody could do Newsline as well as Yinka Craig and Patrick Oke, but he proved me wrong).

Sports: Walter Oyatogun ( "NTA News" smiley ), Yinka Craig, Charles Ojugbana, Tunde Orebiyi, Fabio Olanipekun ( angry ), Akinloye Oyebanji (They handed us back to the studio immediately after we lost the final of either Canada '87 or Saudi '89 and we saw Akinloye Oyebanji. His eyes were RED! You could tell that he had been crying grin ), Modele Sharafa Yusuf, Mainasara Ilo, etc.

Live state events: - Taiwo Obileye (Amazing voice and great attention to detail. He would tell you the name of the horse and how many similar events it had attended. He could probably tell you the name of every single soldier on the parade ground).

NewsWeek: - Maudlyn Park (and later) Chris Anyanwu

Port Harcourt: - Sele Eradiri.

Sokoto: - Mathews Otalike (for over 20 years! ). Very funny news report. I understood what was happening, but it was still very funny.

"The Award was given to Mathews Otalike. . . . "The Commissioner said that Mathews Otalike. . . . "4 people were given awards, including ******, Mathews Otalike, ****** . . . ." and at the end of the report "Mathews Otalike, NTA News". Old Man burst out laughing. Mathews Otalike had been referring to himself in the third person.

Judicial correspondent: - Kayode Idowu

Other correspondents: - Vera Ifudu (Dora Ifudu's sister and one of the main people involved in the missing 2.8 billion naira saga), Joan Oduwyer, Jennifer Iwenjiora (now Jennifer Atiku Abubakar),

Booboo Corner: - Kehinde Young-Harry (and Lola Ogunbambi).

I still can't remember the name sad

there was something very classic about NTA presenters back in the day when we had Duty Continuity Announcers.

Back then when TV stations use to open their broadcast by 5pm and close 11pm. Those days were the days when watching television was worth watching.

From Efuns Sheke Merryman-Johnson To Ruth Benemesia Opia to Hausa Baba Ahmed to Frank Olize to Sienne All well Brown to Yinka Craig to Cyril Stober etc.

Bro I tell you those days were the days. The guys the OP posted are nothing but glorified TV personalities. Lol.

PS: I'm sure you don't know the station formerly referred to as: "Your Reach Out Station". Funny enough that station still is my favourite station till date. No station can ever come close...

Frank Olize was an NTA News correspondent. He became very famous in 1983 when he went out on the streets to ask people, "Who is the common man?" (Nigeria had an economic crisis which started in 1982 and people were always referring to "the common man", "Can the common man afford this?", etc, so he went on the streets to ask people, who is this common man that everybody is talking about ).

He also did similar hilarious interviews on the streets and he became known for that.

In the early 1990s, he took over as host of Newsline. Newsline had started c1988 with Yinka Craig and Patrick Oke as hosts.

He left Newsline in the late 1990s or early 2000s and started Tuesday Night Live (Abike Dabiri took over as host of Newsline) and that was the last show that he presented on the NTA.
