A Nigerian Army colonel, M.Z Manu, has been killed bandits in Unguwar Doka Village under Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

SaharaReporters gathered that the colonel and some soldiers, who were on routine patrol, ran into an ambush by the bandits, which led to his death.

Two other soldiers and some civilians were also killed by the gunmen.

Some people also refer to Lt. Colonel simply as Colonel just as anyone from Brigadier General upwards can be refered to as simply General though the full General is the 4 star General.
