The fiery Safin brings something to the game, uncertainty. Makes things a bit more enjoyable than the boring, always winning Federer. Safin has talent to boot! Na wa for game 7, second set Safarova vs Jankovic. . . . duece number 11!! |

Gonzo, Blake (not surprising), Ljubicic have all bowed out in the third round. As expected, Federer n Roddick are in full control. |

I hoped Tatiana Golovin advanced so that I can see more red "knickers". Enjoyed it while it lasted.

federer through. i neva can understand why these players keep it late coming into the game with federer. if safin had fired on all cylinders from the blast, perhaps, it would have been different. anyway, he did not and he is out. who can stop federer?? |
Re: Tennis: Wimbledon 2007 by salehm(m): 1:27pm On Jun 30, 2007 |

Re: Tennis: Wimbledon 2007 by Nobody: 12:36am On Jul 02, 2007 |
lets hope and pray someone does, tennis may get too boring. |
Re: Tennis: Wimbledon 2007 by dinozzo(m): 12:41am On Jul 02, 2007 |
kitaun:they said that about Bjorn Borg but he was eventually beaten by John McEnroe whom he beat the previous year. Hopefully we'll see something similar in the Nadal and Federer rivalry. Might not be this year but i'm sure it will happen. Nadal can only become better on grass while I think Federer is at his peak. |
Re: Tennis: Wimbledon 2007 by Nobody: 12:43am On Jul 02, 2007 |
Federer is probably good enough for this yr and maybe next. I foresee Nadal will become world number 1 within the next 2 yrs at this rate. I saw a part of his second round match and he seems to have improved tremendously from last yr. A lot of his clay style has been modified to fit grass and that can only spell doom for the rest of the pack. Djokovic is also someone to watch. |
Re: Tennis: Wimbledon 2007 by dinozzo(m): 1:01am On Jul 02, 2007 |
A player who continues to frustrate me is that Safin guy. I've lost any hope of him getting any other open. Take for instance his game against Federer on friday. There was a particular time in the second set he had it, broke federer but lowered his standard and made a few errors and federer broke back which was painful but against a player like federer you just need to think about it once and get on with the game other chances will come(thats why I like Nadal), but with Safin as we know this is never the case he started hitting the racket after every error he made from there on and federer took the set. The third set was a bit closer and we saw tightly contested games but it was only a matter of time before the errors started coming in, too bad it came in the tie breaker which federer won 7-4. |

After that game Safin became a lost case to me. Another guy who i can't help feeling frustrated with is Nalbandian, won the masters cup in 2005 and since then na wa o. |
