The third grandslam of the year starts today. The big three (perhaps four) in the men's game, look set to dominate the other players again. Will we have another Nadal - Federer final? Can Djokovic, Murray spoil the party? The other pretenders are Tsonga, Berdych, Soderling, Del Potro. The women's game is still as unpredictable as it has been for sometime. The return of the Williams sisters sure adds to the glamour to the event, but can they reach the finals? Kim is ruled out with an ankle injury. Who else is there to talk about? Wozniacki? Li? Who takes this year's title? |

Serena Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, Li Na, Maria Sharapova and Marion Bartoli are through to the second round but there were surprise defeats for Sam Stosur and Jelena Jankovic. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Fernando Gonzalez, Fernando Verdasco, Andy Roddick, Ivan Ljubicic, David Nalbandian, Marcos Baghdatis, John Isner, Juan Martin del Potro, David Ferrer, Robin Soderling, Lleyton Hewitt and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga are safely through to the second round.
