OAUTemitayo:. Lol... He allowed it to slip but he was not a loser in achievements and policies What Mimiko did shebi we would still enjoy it a bit before it would eventually go to total waste in the hands of governors like Akeredolu. All those white elephant project and industries he did and launched at the last minute we would see how long it would last in the hands of other mediocre gvt like him To me they are all total waste because it doesn't affect the lives of the common man on the street, the beggars, market women, farmers, school pupils, children, pregnant women, family men and youths and if your projects and policies doesn't affect their lives positively, what is the essence of your so called industries? How many people would in cater for in the state, how long would it last? As you know we lack the spirit of continuity in this country when it comes to governance. The op said he distributed cocoa abeg what is the result now? In for years, are we back to our winning ways of being one of the highest cocoa producer? That initiative is trash, no structures just distribution |

Seventy7kings:This is not weiling, if he did well it won't take anything to praise him offline and online After all last administration also had his own flaws which I pointed out in my posts If dem born Aketi well he should make this election free and fair, that would seal the end of his political career. The real battle is between ZLP and PDP, PDP has governed Ondo state before but their performance is almost like APC so I think the people should experiment with ZLP based on previous records, and if they f up kick them out just as Aketi would be kicked out. Ondo state best option for now is ZLP anything aside that I am not sure I would put a 50/50 chance of delivery on Agboola, 47/50 on Jegede and 10/50 on Aketi 1 Like |

Babaibe: Now I see you are not talking based on facts but propaganda..I will be answering you one after the other with facts like I did above.. 1.Security..You claimed procuring 100vehicles is almost zero..Please are you sure of what you are saying? The vehicles should have been like 1000 or 1million or what are you saying?Did Ajimobi procure 100 police vehicles parked all over the city 24hours round the clock?someone bought 100police vehicles you said he hasnt done anything..tell me which other state in Nigeria apart from Lagos,Abuja,Oyo and Ogun has those smart police vehicles..You claim Ajimobi has done so well in security but he was not able to buy 100police vehicles..The Police in Oyo do not have an emergency line which we have under seyi now..You can call the police on 615 and you will be answered 24hours around the clock..FACT! or what about operation Light up Oyo?Oyo state that has no working street light until seyi came in..And with street lights security is enhanced because I do not know how you will steal where light is humiliated..The second phase was launched weeks ago.. 2..You claimed the projects were project started by previous administrations..Only two projects above were awarded by previous administration..The Iseyin moniya road and the saki road..Both projects were awarded only on paper with nothing being done..The Iseyin road was even given two billion naira..The contractor could not do a thing, had to even go award it to someone else..that one too could not do nada..Seyi came in and cancelled the project and awarded it to a competent contractor..KOPEK.and even got 1billion naira back from the contractor..You can google KOPEK..The Federal government sef dey use KOPEK..The Job is almost completed and a journey of almost 4hours to Iseyin because of the bad road now goes for about an hour for a road project that hasnt been completed ooo..so what are you saying 3..Saki road too was awarded on paper nothing was done or very little with a very slow pace of work..He cancelled it and rewarded it to another competent contractor...Anything bad in doing that?If the job is going on well would it have been cancelled? It was because those two jobs were shoddy with little or nothing being done made it to be cancelled..Some Ajimobi's project met on ground were completed by seyi,The Ijokodo bridge was completed in case you dont know the bridge..Why did he not cancel those ones? When we talk please let's talk with facts and not propaganda cos that is what the opposition are good at I showed you other projects that are on going..The Old Ife road to AJIA road with a spur to Amuloko done under the Alternative project funding capacity..The road project at Apete too is on going..The current renovation of Adamsingba together with Agbowo shopping complex..These two are to shore up the IGR of the state.all these projects above apart from Apete are not even paid for by the state government but by the contractor with its own money..The contractor does the project while the state pays back over a period of time..so when you said the 100billion naira is for renovation of a stadium and agbowo shopping complex, then I knew you dont have the facts with you.. The Bond is to be gotten in two ranches of 50billion naira... Project 1..The Ibadan circular road..Ajimobi could not do it and seyi is doing it again..I hope you wont say it is a bad thing.. Project 2..Iseyin to Ogbomosho road and the upgrading of the Ibadan airport together with the facelift of the tract of Ibadan Dry Port, two General Hospitals etc With Bonds,Projects to be done are attached with with..You dont just go borrow Bond..BONDS are different..The projects to be used with it are attached for all to see....Ohh I forgot,The current Bus Terminals currently built at Iwo road to solve the problem of traffic logjam in Iwo road finally..The one at challenge and Ojoo..These terminals will change the face of transportation in Oyo and bring in more funds for the state government..All seyi is doing is increasing the IGR of the state..Btw,If you commend the bus terminals in Lagos and condemn that of Oyo means you are nothing but an Hypocrite Thanks |

King44: u av a point bro.. 1 is u can't satisfy everybody the same time, one thing sacrifice for the other... With respect to ondo state allocation I think Aketi is trying though. Agagu in his time did same only to b butted out of office but we keep regretting our action.. Either true or False Aketi is pro industry whixh are capital intensive d that's the only thing I know that can take the state from civil dependent economy to an Industry dependent type , Lagos for example. U can't just do all. I'm quite aware workers in state university are yet to get their salary also though. The seaport Aketi vowed to do was an initiative by agagu but was truncated by inconsistent transfer of power, he had no chance as he was cut short. only if he was given the chance as at then. Aketi is currently banking on private partnership coz state can't finance seaport. so I wish we give him the chance. likewise the bitumen project..2major project he promised for his 2nd term.. 2 Likes |

danilmo:if he can't set the record straight in his first tenure what assurance is there that in his second tenure would yield anything, if he fails to in his second tenure only to be booted out by another party, I can assure you that those seaport or so would a waste as other gvt would ignore it, there is no continuity in the way we run our gvt in Ondo state, so all those projects are fallacy even if things were put in place to kick start it. Agagu, that man was a scam but from the look of things he is slightly better than Aketi in terms of policies but infrastructure wise, it was so lopsided but he did something. All those betumen whatever and few industry whatever if not given to privatised, it would go to waste, just as he is mismanaging things left by the ex administration another would come to mismanage it. Aketi is a fowl. The people need to be catered for first before those things because what he is doing is not beneficial to the common man on the street, when that is settled we can now go ahead to talk about industry, the cassava processing small factory factory introduced by Agagu, where are they today, Oluwa glass where is it today, what happened to those ones would still happen to these few he created but build better primary school, uplift the face of the tertiary institutions and reduce fee, roads that cut across the 18 LGA, hospitals give loans to farmers and small scale business, subsidize fertilizers to farmers, cater for the homeless, orphans, infants, children and the pregnant and make policies that would favour the people, make tax bearable like Mimiko deed before you can ahead and built industry just like Ondo state industrial park Mimiko did in Akure if it is still functioning. Pay workers, and don't tax them to death ( this was where the former administration failed) Aketi is making worse mistakes now and he doesn't care If he had maintained the projects the previous Adm did and concentrated more on the people, if people can't remember him for sustaining the previous projects but they would remember him for not letting hunger kill them, for not ruining their lives with tax, for making policies that makes the people happy but reverse is the case. |

[quote author=OndoFirstBorn post=94433260]The success of any government is measured by how well an administration has successfully and positively impacted the lives of the people it was elected to govern. Over the years, there has been a great paradigm shift away from the traditional and pure understanding of what governance and leadership is all about. Taking the case of the Nigerian Political setting, the first generational leaders which followed the Nigerian independence was made of elites who set the pace for what good leadership is all about. While getting a breed that fits into this category might be hard to find in our present day realities, a fresh air of hope comes with the realization that there are quite a handful left within the Nigerian Political scene who understand what governance and leadership is all about. Standing tall among these few lot, who understand pure art of governance, is Arakunin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN. One who is willing to take the bull by the horn, doing the needful to effecting the much needed change and also ready to taking the necessary sacrifice for the good all.
