Question Of The Day: Is There Anything Worth Celebrating? ? by benny4wax(m): 2:28am On Oct 01, 2020
Arise o compatriot Nigeria's call obey.

I decided to start this post with the first paragraph of the Nigerian National Anthem to remind us of the clarion call of our nation.

Indeed, today is another great day in the history of our dear country Nigeria. It is a remembrance of our 60 year Independence anniversary from our colonial fathers (Great Britain).

To some it is a day of great merriment and celebration. To others it is just another day with nothing special to celebrate.

On this day as is the norm, the head of state President Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR) will address the nation to give hope to the people.

On this same day, the supreme leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has ordered a sit at home in all the eastern states in protest against a forced union. While those in diaspora are holding a protest at the Nigeria embassy in their various countries.

The Yoruba One Voice (YOV) are also staging a peaceful protest across the nation to demand for a country of their own (Oduduwa Republic) and a complete divorce from this marriage called Nigeria.

The question is what are we really celebrating? Progress or retrogression?

Happy Independence Fellow Nigerians!

Every independence and children's day I see this same topic. Ask yourself, is there anything to celebrate on Christmas and Salah every year? In there lies the answer.
