Our society is a mirror of the average family we have in Nigeria.

The leaders, who have siphoned the wealth of the nation into their personal treasury, come from certain families; and the greed and avarice that characterize any leadership is traceable to the upbringing such leaders had when growing up.

The culture we celebrate in Nigeria does not encourage or celebrate honesty, integrity, hardwork and transparency anymore.

The masses who complain of misgovernance do so because they are at the receiving end of the system.
If most of us find ourselves in our leaders' shoes, the degree of greed we are going to exhibit will outrageously dwarf theirs.

We are our own problem. Unless we change our VALUES as a nation, dividing the country into shreds or smithereens would have no effect.

The reason most of us do not go into internet frauds (YAHOO YAHOO) or engage in some other fast money spinning vices is we do not have the information and tools to perpetrate such crimes. I do not say we do not have a negligible number of Nigerians that are upright, it's just that the number of citizens that are now caught in the web of the wild goose chase is grossly overwhelming.

Our leaders are examples of what Nigeria can produce at any point in time. Dividing the country without changing our mindset and values is like striving with the wind.

I wonder what kind of leaders the next generation would produce with the prevailing high quotient of corruption and sweeping effect of overnight success syndrome.

Everyone of us needs some introspection and evaluation. The answer to the hydra-headed problems of Nigeria lies predominantly with each of us. I need to make that change and you need to make that change too provided you are not among the very few that still value probity, hardwork, transparency and DUE PROCESS.
