Independence Day speech gone wrong.

Democracy, the world over and as I am pursuing in Nigeria, recognizes the power of the people. However, if some constituencies choose to bargain off their power, they should be prepared for denial of their rights.

Interpretation

Democracy, the world over and as I am pursuing in Nigeria, recognizes the power of the people (rights). However, if some constituencies (separatists, most likely Biafra) choose to bargain off their power (right to freedom of association), they should be prepared for denial of their rights.

We were managing Nigeria before Buhari, a man that talks before he thinks divided Nigeria with his utterances (97%, 5%) and still back it up with lopsided appointments. And now, he's threatening our rights and life

Honestly, this Buhari and the word repentant Democrat should not be put together in the same sentence.

There is no need packaging shyte as Ikokore Ijebu at this point. Buhari is down already as Nigeria's most horrible president in the history of countries. How can any sane human being, in this day and time come out to say you will vehemently deny people of their rights. Wrose, in an Independence Day speech!

Definitely there are some situations where a citizen is denied his right, mostly for the safety of other citizens or for a punishment to an offence he/she committed...

As much as I don't like Buhari's rule, I see nothing wrong in this quote!

In other words, it’ll only get worse for anyone campaigning for a better life for Nigerians. His administration is the government of Rehoboam, Solomon’s son. Get ready for whips of scorpions, it’s the neXtLevel! grin

When your actions shows that you are committed to the Fulani cause and hatred to other tribes, why not allow them to decamp for the betterment of their lives. Nigeria is more divided today than during the civil war. All because of the nepotism orchestrated by the presidency. It is better handled with maximum wisdom now. A time is coming when it can no longer be manageable. A stitch in time saves nine. The issue of the country getting divided is a nonnegotiable issue. The unknown is just the time. When the time comes. The soldiers and the police will become useless. Let everyone has a sense of belonging. Nobody is a prisoner of war in this country. Caution is needed if there must be peace and unity. Otherwise, a time will come when every effort is going to prove abortive.

Lol he has forgotten that same way rights can be taken from citizens, it can be taken from the president too... Tell him to ask Saddam husein and Gaddafi that was better than buhari 100% and probably still better than buhari even as a dead man.
The afore mentioned people were leaders in areas largely United by religion.. I hope the fool Knows in Nigeria we are not United both by religion and by ethnicity... When it's starts it'll be bloody those I pity are the hausas...
The war he is sowing will come one day and if that's the price so be it... Even in heaven there was war before things went back to how it was supposed to be...
