Nigeria's 60th Anniversary has brought mixed feelings to the minds of we Nigerians. Some have argued that there is nothing worth celebrating and have even gone ahead to rain aspersions on our dear ailing motherland. The question here is, what is it that can make a child remind his 60-year old father of his failures, even on his birthday? I will help you with the answer, hate!

An average African do not like taking blames and we Nigerians are not outliners in this. Many shallow-minded Nigerians will easily approximate the failures of our society to leadership alone, failing to accept that we ourselves are as guilty as they are. If our leaders are indeed the criminals, then we are their accomplices. It is the bitter truth!

If this country will move forwards, we first must shun greed that appears to be inherent in us and most importantly, we must learn to take responsibility. We should have far understood at this stage that only we ourselves can save ourselves as no good-intentioned government will help us if we are not ready to take the required sacrifices to birth the new Nigeria of our dreams. Just like the popular saying, 'heavens help those who help themselves', only those who take responsibility can truly effect desired change as development abounds and it is unhindered where citizens see themselves as leaders. It's all in our hands.

Good or bad, there is still hope for this nation irrespective of the present undeniable ugly realities. There is still good in our darling motherland, only the love for her can make us see it.

Lastly, as Mr President earlier stated, ''... to achieve the great country we desire, we need to solidify our strength, increase our commitment and encourage ourselves to do that which is right and proper even when no one is watching''.

Arise o compatriot! Let's build our nation together in unity, peace and love (tolerance).

Happy Independence to all patriotic Nigerians!

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I've not seen any politician or anyone in political no office celebrating Nigeria at 60 and wearing green white green.

This is 11:00pm I have not seen but some zombies paying tailor to see a green white green and wearing it to celebrate Nigeria at 60.

Kwantinue... In Buhari's voice.
