In actual fact, the real Boko Haram has been technically defeated. These attacks are been carried out by a splinter groups. These groups are equally deadly, and employs guerilla tactics in their attacks because they truly can't withstand (head-on) the military and stage spectacular attacks like Boko Haram used to do.
Boko Haram has always used guerilla style attacks and has been factioned a long time ago. It's not because of any technical defeat.

We also need to understand that the insurgents have so infiltrated the fabric of the north east that gathering intelligence and ensuring its integrity is quite challenging. The armed forces are really trying to combat these terrorist. If only sincere political will be provided, these guys are no match to our military.
The army themselves are sabotaging their own efforts.

Well, tactically defeated in the sense that they no longer control large areas (LGAs) as they once did, and can't stage an attack without being repelled and forced to retreat. mind you, in warfare, guerrilla attack strategy is mostly used by the weaker opponent.

The military has repeatedly refuted this, but we all know thats the truth. There is a tactical dictum in the military that no plan for any tactical maneuver survives contact with the opponent.

No. Its only complicated. And this is simply because some few ones are feeding fat from the restive situation of that region and also hoping to leverage politically on it. However, Mr. President, the Presidency and the good people of this country (particularly residents of the north east) sincerely want the insurgency to stop so that normalcy can return. Borno used to be one of the most peaceful States in this country.

You lie to convince yourself and your likes and now, you're beginning to believe those lies. Your president gives amnesty to terrorists. That's not a man that wants terrorism to end rather he enables terrorism and rewards terrorists.
Your CIC is a terrorist!

As it ever occurred to you that boko does not control large areas because they don't have the manpower. Therefore they improvised by repeatedly attacking a particular area until it is unsafe for occupation, thereby achieving the same aim of control without physical presence

I think Boko is active. They have not been defeated. Gureilla tactics has always been in their playbook.

That's why it is going to take ages to beat them sadly.

Just like many other sinilar groups like the FARC and IRA.

Exactly. It keeps them in the public eye, and gives them the air of invincibility.

The minute they take on the Army head on, they are finiished.

Wrong wrong wrong!! This new group(s) are even more deadly than the original boko haram...iswap makes boko haram look like kids playing police and thief...they are much better trained, equipped and funded than boko haram..watch their videos and you will see that they are getting foreign battle hardened jihadists to come and train them.

If they had such intelligence, why wouldn't the army go and deal with them instead of cowardly asking people to stay clear because "technically defeated" Boko Haram are doing convention along the route

Like I said the other time, that governor should stop putting the lives of security agents in arms way. He's taking too many risks with the lives of the people who are protecting him and he's really wasting their lives to keep himself alive.
The governor's overzealousness is creating additional more widows than necessary. He should remember that these young boys protecting him have young families, wives and kids.
Zulum, stop going to dangerous zones, Boko guys would always like to make a point
