The Managing Director of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has pledged readiness of the bank to avail Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu- Alike, Ebonyi State the opportunity to benefit from the bank’s products. The pledge was made during the recent courtesy visit of the Vice- Chancellor, AE-FUNAI, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba and his team, to the Bank’s Managing Director, in his Abuja office.

In his presentation during the collaborative meeting with Arc Dangiwa, Prof Nwajiuba narrated the acute need for housing and hostel facilities for staff and students of the university and therefore appealed to the Bank’s management, for inclusion of AE-FUNAI in the Bank’s housing scheme. Reinforcing VC’s appeal, Honourable Comrade Chinedu Ogah, member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, who accompanied Prof Nwajiuba in the visit, added that, as the University is located in his constituency, he was pleased to join his voice in requesting for the partnership, asserting that Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba has exhibited unequalled commitment and purposeful leadership within his tenure as VC in the young university. He pledged to provide all the required legislative framework to facilitate the collaboration.

Arc Dangiwa outlined the bank’s range of products from which the university could benefit, going further to graciously promise to avail the university opportunity for 100 units of staff housing in the next phase of the banks housing development project, due to commence very soon; 2 units of hostel complexes for male and female students, and engage the university in the banks research development plan. A joint committee of the university and the bank representatives was set up to work out necessary modalities for the collaboration.
