The Elders have absolutely nothing to offer. In a world that's gone digital, they still can't figure out how to keep our light steady. 24 hours light is a dream for most of the populace.

SARS can not be reformed. They will just move the hungry, angry men to new units. Nothing will change.

Cos as a nation, we are dead inside.

These old people need to go. Their old ways and methods keep us behind. End the Elders.. the old stupid people who rule us with Post-WW2 mentality. These leaders lies to us - they tell us things that please our ears.. they are the new slavemasters...

All our dreams now na to make money, go Walter Carrington go beg for exeat(visa), because our finest dreams are very far away from home.

There is no Jesus coming. No God will save Us. We wake up to the seeds we planted yesterday. And our elders did a lot of damage in the human farm called Nigeria... Over 200 million souls with no aim or direction.. blowing wherever the oyibo people go...m

The leaders we have as well as those in authority are the mirror by which the general public is to be judged.

In truth, the average Nigerian is no better than those in power, in fact, some of the people down here will do worse if given the opportunity.

Teachers in the classroom abuse their power, their employers as well as other private employers are bigger bullies. Nearly every tradesperson or salesperson wants to make a profit at your expense. Civil defense and police will abuse you, SARS will kill you, the armed forces personnel are gods, Electricity workers are demigods, I could go on and on...

I only support a split because even though it won't solve our problems in the short term, it'll help us identify them faster.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THE ENTIRE 200 MILLION NIGERIANS TO "ESCAPE". THIS IS THE REALITY. DO YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE MANY AFRICAN, S/AMERICAN AND ASIAN COUNTRIES THAT ARE HAVING IT WORSE THAN US?
ONE CAN STILL SUCCEED IN NIGERIA CUS ONE MAN'S LOSS IS ANOTHER'S GAIN.

The only south American nation worse than Nigeria is Venezuela. A very few Asian countries not up to 5. Do research so many countries in South America are very rich and wealthy.

SOUTH AMERICA? FEW ASIA...
I'M DUMBFOUNDED BY YOUR CONFIDENCE IN THE THINGS YOU IMAGINE RATHER THAN LOOK THINGS UP.

WE'RE LIGHTYEARS AHEAD OF MANY COUNTRIES IN THE CARIBBEAN, ASIA, AND SOUTH AMERICA BOTH IN TERMS OF WEALTH, HEALTHCARE, DEVELOPMENT, SECURITY, SOCIAL AMENITIES AND MUCH MORE. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND STUDY THINGS BEFORE COMING OUT PROUD BECAUSE ONLY BRAZIL CAN COMPETE WITH NIGERIA TO AN EXTENT. THAT CONTINENT IS EVEN WORSE THAN AFRICA, BUT YOU WON'T KNOW BECAUSE YOU JUST BELIEVE AFRICA IS THE WORST PLACE WITHOUT ASKING QUESTIONS.

So Uruguay with the highest middle class in South America is worse than Nigeria. Chile is worse than Nigeria. Paraguay is worse than Nigeria. Argentina is worse than Nigeria. you make me laugh. Many south American nations aren't that far off from Europe. Venezuela is what it is because of socialism and bad policies. Other countries have extremely powerful passports and strong economies. Citizens of Uruguay have work rights to almost all of Europe something a Nigerian can only dream of even to get a visit visa is a problem. They won't have that access if they weren't wealthy. Google the per capita income of south America nations and the Various human development index. You can't even compare any African country to them.

It's the ignorance and braggadocio that gets me angry. How can someone from the country with the highest number of poor people be so boastful? How can someone with one of the weakest passport conjure in his privation state be so proud to say Nigeria is better than a country that enjoys working holiday visas with developed countries? Everyday we read enquiries from Nigerians who want to abuse tourist visas to work in Canada, UK and other European countries, something their South American counterparts don't need to ask because they enjoy such privileges. Even with the economic crisis in Chile, she has a working holiday visa policy with Japan. Implying a young Chilean can move to Japan and work without knowing the language and going through stringent visa processes. Can a young Nigerian enjoy same privilege? No! But we've an ignoramus who screams UP NEPA lampooning people who don't bother about same.

The worst thing that can happen to a young Nigerian is to be proud in his/her poverty stricken state yet lampoons countries that are way richer than Nigeria.

I agree with everything you have said except on Socialism. Do you know what Socialism is?

Going to free government owned schools is socialism

Subsidy is socialism

The old NEPA was socialism

Any government funded project that reduces costs for the citizens is socialism.

The American government is trying to destroy socialism because according to Karl Marx, Socialism will give birth to Communism. The US government is highly capitalistic and staunchly opposed to socialism. This is why they have either by bribery or by force, destroyed socialist systems and governments worldwide.

Besides that, you're spot on.

Say it loud until they hear. Fighting a symptom doesn't cure an ailment. It's easy for those daredevils to treat you inhumanely because they're criminals adept in the crime. Their goal is to strike terror into the youth so they appear helpless. Since when have you seen the SARS go after terrorist herdsmen? Not even once.
Carry on with the protest but know that it is not the solution or even close to being the solution.

Continue with the blind patriotism. It will only make matters worst. When Nigeria divides and Yorubas look back into the years they've kicked against the division, they will cry. The rate of development that will be witnessed in our respective countries after division will be so great. There's something about division... It usually comes up with some part of it excelling and being at peace compared with being together and remaining miserable just like Nigeria is today. This is the reality we must face. Thinking Nigeria can be fixed is just wishful thinking.

A staff of a department in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic asked me to wait outside later reiterating that I would be attended to on Monday after making me to wait for heaven knows hour on the auspices that I interfered while "gisting" with a male friend who came visiting while on official duty Friday Morning.

This was unprofessional but it's one of the many unprofessionalism of most Nigerians both during and off official duties, why then do we say Nigeria can work when our people aren't even ready to work?

There's a sole responsibility for each one of us which we keep neglecting, until we realise that with who and how we act, we headed for doom the best for us.

Nigerian lecturers are flat track bullies.

90% of Nigerians in some form of authority are bullies. From teachers to lecturers, VIO, FRSC, BEDC/KEDC/IKEDC workers etc.

Nigeria's problem has always been Nigerians.I only hope this rather trifle protests would spark a revolution that would significantly and fundamentally change the direction this country is heading towards. We have turned a blind eye to the problems that are pushing this country farther away from redemption for generations,so if this is the part in the Nigerias history that would be referenced when all these issues are nonexistent then that'd be great..If this is just a one time thing, then you guys shouldn't bother. You don't cut off a branch and think you've killed the tree,it just shoots out another, which could prolly be more problematic than the former.
