The much anticipated Ondo gubernatorial election was held today Saturday, 10th of October 2020, and it has generated a lot of controversies across the country and beyond.

In the early hours of today, there were reports of gunshots that scared voters from voting, vote buying, security operatives being compromised, and others.

Infact, these were captured in videos that was shared on the internet by those present at the scene where these happened.
Although, the winner of the election is yet to be announced as the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has just begun counting of votes, but there are strong indications that the incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu might emerge winner because he has an early lead already.

Meanwhile, a leading prophet, Primate Ayodele had said few weeks before the election that the candidate of the APC, Rotimi Akeredolu will not win except through the power of incumbency, manipulations, technicality, money, security.


‘’ Rotimi Akeredolu will not win Ondo election except through manipulations and technicality, He must not underrate anybody, the candidate of the PDP, Eyitayo Jegede and ZLP, Agboola Ajayi are out to beat him. He needs to be careful because he will be betrayed, there are moles in his camp.

The people of Ondo state have rejected Akeredolu, no matter the crowd he has now, they won’t give him victory except he manipulate.
He should wake up, strategize and right his wrongs if he wants to win or else, He will lose gallantly except through manipulations’’

He had also said in the sun newspaper website that the incumbent will retain his seat through all the points mentioned earlier and that the other candidates should wait for their time.

His words: “October 10 poll in Ondo will be a tight race, but the incumbent will win. I advise other contenders to pray for God’s appointed time.
With Rotimi Akeredolu taking the lead and the disruptions that took place earlier during the voting process, could it be that Primate Ayodele’s prophecy is coming to pass?
