Graphic: Protesters shot three of our officers- Lagos police PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Muyiwa Adejobi, says three officers in the command's Anti-kidnapping unit were shot during a protest against police brutality in Surulere and are currently in the Intensive Care Unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital LASUTH.

LIB had reported earlier that the protest in Surulere turned violent after the protesters clashed with the police.

LIB reached out to Adejobi to confirm the death of the protester in Surulere. Adejobi averred he wasn't aware of the killing of the protester but that three police officers who were shot by protesters and have been rushed to the hospital.

''Our anti-kidnapping unit officers were shot. Three of them were shot. They are in ICU now. They are LASUTH now” he said

Adejobi said the officers were in mufti when they were attacked by the protesters.

He added that the command will release an official statement soon.

if you want to protest, let it be a peaceful one and never be a party to violence. The miserable hypocrites supporting you on nairaland and other forums wont bear an iota of the grief when it happens.
