Buhari Appoints Lauretta Onochie, Three Others As INEC Commissioners

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of one of his media aides, Lauretta Onochie, as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission representing Delta State.

Others are Prof. Mohammed Sani Katsina), Prof. Kunle Ajayi (Ekiti), and Seidu Ahmed (Jigawa).

The letter was read by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.

Onochie is the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media.

2. Lauretta Onochie – Delta State

3. Kunle Cornelius Ajayi – Ekiti State

4. Seidu Ahmad – Jigawa State

wow... prof Kunle Ajayi deserve the appointment... The man is super intelligent and a good father figure. Apart from that... his political ideas are not bias towards anyone or any group. Any political science student from EKSU can relate.

It's d foolishness and insensitivity of this Buhari APC that disconnects them from d masses. This woman has been known to be an APC apologist and she has not hidden it. This is an insult to d intelligentsia community of Delta State and a confirmation of d nepotism and prebendalism often denied by this govt but kept manifesting in all their appointments. Tell me what is independent now in INEC.
