Danielson Akpan has been removed as the president of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for allegedly diverting the Covid-19 palliatives,

Akpan was given a marching order on Tuesday, October 13, after a student Senate meeting which was held via video conferencing.

The now impeached NANS president assumed office in July 2018, with his impeachment coming more than two years after he took the mantle of leadership at the national level.

According to Premium Times, prior to Akpan's impeachment, stakeholders and concerned officials of the student body have been complaining about his prolonged tenure.

But on Tuesday a student Senate led by Comrade Gambo Mohammed gave Akpan a marching order after a special investigative panel set up fingered him in the diversion of student’s Covid-19 palliatives.
