Pan-Yoruba socio political organisation, Afenifere has described the rejection by governors of the 19 northern states the disbandment of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as unfortunate.

Simon Lalong, Plateau state governor and chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, told State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Thursday that the police unit has been useful in the fight against insecurity in the region.
“SARS is not made up of bad elements alone as it also includes personnel who are  doing their work diligently,” he said.

Reacting to the position of the Northern Governors, Yinka Odumakin, National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere said the governors should wholeheartedly support the scrapping of SARS if truly they value human lives.

"It's rather unfortunate that the Governors could make a choice of extra Judicial killings for their yoing ones". 

"It is not surprising that a lot of their young ones are enmeshed in Boko Haram which has seized the peace of the country. If they have value for human lives,  they should back the scrapping of SARS" Afenifere said.

how will any body sensible thinks the northern governor will go against SARS, can't you hear when borno governor was asking the igp of police to transfer them to there state..
the northerners problem is mostly banditry, bokoharam, robbery.. how will any body with common sense now ban SARS from the north? SARS are more active in the north....

while over here our our problem is different, more of ritual killing, fraud, and yahoo yahoo, and petty theft.. SARS over here are idle, so out of boredom they pass there aggression on us.
in conclusion most of them should be transfered to the north where they are needed..

Northerners governor are blood tastings

South and North have different ideologies so why are we in the same country? Imagine North Korea and south Korea in one country? Can't work!

The South see it as their problem. The North don't have issues with SARs. Why should they choose to end it,when it could be reformed,with the high rate of insecurity ongoing there.
