The Federal Government has agreed to release N30 billion earned academic allowance to the university lecturers.

The money will be paid in tranches between May 2021 and February 2022.

The PUNCH gathered that the FG also promised to spend N20 billion on the revitalisation of the education sector as part of concessions meant to end the seven-month strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

These were part of the agreements reached during the ongoing meeting between the FG and ASUU leadership on Thursday.

they are using the protest as a trump card to force the FG's hands open.

If you are ending a strike,end it! We are tired of hearing agreements amidst ongoing strike.You guys said it was for the good of students too but in all the settled issues,l have not seen the place of students' well being.If we are real teachers,lets have our learners at heart for real.

The adjournment, is for the ASUU exco to carry the message to the branch executives for deliberation and ratification! If the branch excos agree with the national excos then end of strike is next week! grin
