EndCorruption not EndSARS

The headline of this post looks skeptical. Many people reading this will be like, is the guy insane? Before you start tagging me with wrong things, read this post to the end first.

Yes, SARS and police have really destroyed people's life. The pain they have caused is so intense that some people feel like killing them. At a point in time, I feel like having access to gun and blow their f**king head. But let's think of things very carefully. Is it actually their fault?

It is not actually their fault. The fault is the system. A country where you have to know somebody before you secure a job. The wrong set of people will end up getting the job. The qualified ones that are willing to serve their country will not be given.

The worst thing about it is that, most that got the job through connection don't pass through screening. Assuming they are properly screened, their incapability will surely be visible. That is why this country is not progressing.

There is a debate of governor's salary and allowances. Do you think the allowance is what actually make them rich? The allowances is very small compare to the padding and embezzlement they get through funds allocation.

The root of all these wrongdoings is corruption. If the corruption is low, things will work well. The right people will get the job. They will do things according to the law and constitution of the country. The government will release all the allocated funds for projects and everything will be standardized.

Nigeria as one of Africa countries, has a deep root of corruption. The rate is so alarming that even a child of 3 years old already understand how to do mago-mago. Law makers and men of God are not left out.

I'm not saying that corruption does not exist in developed countries. The difference between them and Africa is the rate. It is very low in developed countries that you will hardly notice.

What we need to do to stop corruption in this country is to

1. Restore 1999 constitution
2. All citizens should start doing things in accordance.
3. Broadcast any little corruption and ensure that judgement is passed.

The 1999 constitution is the only thing that can stop the politicians from doing just as they damn like. A lot has been changed in the new constitution to suit them. Once the constitution used is reverted to the 1999, the so called politicians won't be able to continue to ruin our country because they know the punishment waiting for them if they do so.

We citizens contribute greatly to corruption on daily basis. We bribe and cheat. That is why a policeman that is used to bribe will never release you until you drop something. There have been case of policeman that shot someone dead just because of N50. Lecturers too will intentionally fail you until you bribe him or have sex with him. If we can all stop bribing and cheating things will work out fine.

Corruption is everywhere. What we can do as a citizen to curb it is to expose those that are engaged in corruption. Thank God for the advent of camera phone. We can simply snap, video or record audio of things that are wrong and post it on social media. There are even places you can post that nobody will know you are the one that did it.

Stop corruption today

1999 Constitution, or 1979 Constitution? Cos to the best of my knowledge Nigeria uses the Constitution of 1999 (As Amended)? Either Constitution we will fail, even give us the bill of rights total disaster, Nigeria is a clear example that the black man is not ready to govern himself.
