An Enugu-based man and an active participant of the ongoing protests against police brutality in the state has accused the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of walking out on them in anger.

This is contrary to earlier report by some news platform (not Featured24) that the Governor addressed the protesting youths of the state who visited him at the Government House.

The report which was earlier made by the government claimed that Ugwuanyi described the protest as a solemn moment for the country.

It further claimed that Ugwuanyi while addressing the youths called for prayers and a minute silence for the departed souls of victims of extra-judicial killings in the nation.

However, in reaction to the report via a short post on Twitter, the man, simply identified as Mighty Mohammed, described the report as false.

“THIS. IS. NOT. CORRECT! He impatiently walked out on us in anger when he tried saying “Enugu state is in the hands of God” and we replied with “It’s in your hands”.

“He got angry and walked away! He didn’t address us and didn’t Thank us!,” he said.

He added that the Governor didn’t even try to calm the protesters down.

Backing up his claims, Mohammed shared a video from the moment the protesters met the Governor Ugwuanyi who after a while told them that 'Enugu is in the hands of God'.

The Governor's usual slogan which didn't sit down well with protesters was immediately rejected. The youths however started chanting “Itʼs in your hands”.

Governors like Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State have also lend their voice towards the end of police brutalities.

The call for an end to police brutality in Nigeria have been going on for a while with youths and celebrities like Falz, Runtown, Wizkid, Davido, Small Doctor in the country taking to the streets to protest.

This guy is so irritated by any distractions to his looting. I am so pissed off by this. Let them intensify the protests. Our politicians must get sense by force. Walk out on protesters! This is all shades of ridiculous

He was the one that was elected and is being paid to lead, not God.

Really?

I imagined that he's simply a lead representative and standard individual like every other person. What happened to committing the state into the presious hand of the Almighty? God first! God regardless.

The day we Nigerians wake up in the morning and begin to chant “God bless Nigeria,” and “God guide our leaders” is the day this nation will push ahead.

If it is by protest or revolution, go and ask from the Biblical Isrealites or Chinese before the reign of the communist part. Blood will only flow and Nigeria will still prevail over the protesters.

Funny enough, the protesters can't even boast of a single leader. Is that how they intend to rule Nigeria? In my humble opinion, this protest lacks foresight, decorum and organization. There's no specific goal but a hidden agenda to wreck havoc in the country. NIGERIA WILL PREVAIL!

Hold your state governors responsible for the condition of your state. Even if Central government is responsible for some conditions, hold your governor responsible still. If Nigerians had done this from the beginning, things will not now be as bad as you say things have become. Grab and hold your state governor's trousers and shake him. He can grab the president's agbada if he likes but you grab his trousers and force him to be responsible.

Enugu is in the hands of God while looting Enugu's finances is in your hands.

Using imaginary being as a cover for incompetence and insane looting. Rubbish

You have a deluded mind .Take a look at Nigeria, we are more religious than the pope in Rome & The imams in Saudi Arabia, yet our society rick of wickedness , Extra judicial killings, lack of empathy , oppression , and above all is corruption which is equally encouraged by your So called religiouse leaders . They preached this to our parents and they became docile citizens, and would rather fast & pray , expecting angel Gabriel to come down from heaven to turn the country around by killing all our corrupt leaders & make Nigeria great again .
America that you so much love to visit fought for thier independence and a better society . The blacks in America cried to God for so many years and were still ill treated and segregated against until they started fighting for their liberation and demanded for fair treatment which they are still doing till this day . Does this not tell you that God gave you brain to think so he need you to fight for what you want.?

We have to fight for good things to happen in this country . Good things don't just fall on your lap or fall on your bed while you sleep.. you have a lazy way of thinking which has landed us in this hostile shit hole of a country that we have .

Our parent refuse to fight for a better nation and made us to inherit a terrible country, so therefore , we must fight for our children while you continue to fast and pray in your room & expect God to send an angel to touch the heart of all your corrupt politicians to stop stealing our common wealth, you hear!!! .
Religion is a problem in Nigeria and I would rather serve my God my own way and fight for a better country than leave it to fate .. God forbid to the latter .
For the Enugu Governor, he is a useless person. When it's time to steal , he will forget about God & his teaching but when it's time to do his job to protect lives and properties in his state then he becomes a fanatic& a hypocrite .

Fulani headmen would strike & kill his people , and he will ask them to go fast and pray for angel Gabriel to defend them instead of him to set up a local security task force to tackle these menace just like what the south western are doing .
He is a stupid Governor . Apologies to our Enugu brothers in the house if you feel offended by my harsh words .
While you criticize the protest and their poor strategies what have you contributed to making Nigeria a better country ..
You will just open your big mouth to condemn people, fighting for a good course, while you have nothing to offer .Nonsence...if this is what religion has turned you into then I rather be a free thinker .Rubbish
