This guy is smart. A soft answer turns away wrath.
He was given a SOFT ORDER by his boss. grin

See eh! Let me be frank and speak my opinion inside this matter, it will only take a soldier with a very good conscience to disobey an order to kill. Imagine the one that covered his face to draw support from his comrades so as not to carry orders like the LEKKI SHOOTING, yet he has since been found, probably will be tried. I cannot be in the force since bad biddings don't sit well in my conscience. Please, our GALLANT soldiers, for what it's worth and knowing how hard it may be, carry out fatal orders like a SNAIL. Perhaps, such act and the time delay may just be the GOOD WE NEED TO OVERCOME THIS PRESENT EVIL.

Why not join them?

Don't incite people via Nairaland. Lead them!
They are settlers and Lagos and are encouraging people to destroy Lagos. Did you see them as excited as they get on every Lagos or Ogun thread on the Abia secretariat thread?

Of course they wouldn't be. Only South West deserves to burn. I pity all those brothers of yours who cant see the handwriting on the wall.

Ipob on their own have transformed that their one time *Turkish Ambassador* into "the President of Turkey".

We live in very interesting times where the President of Turkey displays Biafra flag in his office.

Soldiers calm the air as ENDSARS protesters defy govt curfew in Osun

Despite the directive of the Osun state government imposing a 24-hour curfew, the ENDSARS protesters in Osogbo have defied the order as they storm the state capital to demand an end to police brutality.

The Osun state government had on Tuesday imposed 24 hours’ curfew in the state to curb the escalation of violence in the state.

However, the protestants in defiance of the order besieged and mounted barricades at Olaiya junction, Osogbo.

In response to the defied curfew, scores of soldiers stormed the convergence spot of the EndSARS protesters.

Our correspondent who was present at the scene reports that the military troop arrived the EndSARS protest Ground in numbers in about seven military vans around 11:10 am on Wednesday.

The soldiers displayed a high level of civility and professionalism while addressing the protestants.

The soldiers who were fully armed reacted to the agitations and complaints lodged by protesting youths against alleged brutality, extortion and extra-judicial killings by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Response Squad (SARS) peacefully.

The youths due to the calmness of the troops also conducted themselves properly as they displayed the ethos of Omoluabi, though, they only chanted solidarity songs, they reiterated the need for SARS to be scrapped.

Addressing the protesting youths, one of the soldiers who had earlier joined the protesters with the Nigerian flag in his hand assured the protestants that they are not at the scene to launch any form of attack on the protesters.
The soldier added that they are with the protesters and would ensure they are safe in the course of their peaceful protest.

He said there was the need for the protesters to obey the executive order of the state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola emphasizing that they will not attack the protesters.

It was learnt that the hoodlums would have wreaked havoc on Osun State Broadcasting Company (OSBC) and some other Government-owned parastatals if not for the quick intervention of the soldiers who later restored peace in the areas.

Soldiers always give this excuse of carrying out tasks based on instruction/order from above.

My question to them is, If instructed to go and gun down all members of their families will they obey that order?

Way to go. A brief press release by the president would have halted this mess from escalating.
In as much as the north is not boiling, nothing concerns Buhari. Assuming the northern states join the protests fully, he would have intervene.

I just tire. I've been a victim of SARS harassment and Police brutality and I support the #EndSARS movement. But I'm surprised some people have hijacked the protests. Criminals now disguise as #EndSARS Protesters to cause havoc in Lagos and some other parts of the South and these election losers are happily cheering them. None of them has suggested that Peter Obi's properties be burnt down yet they're asking people to destroy govt (plus Tinubu's) properties in Lag. Anyways, I'm just observing. We'll be well las las.

kudos to this soldiers who acted the right way
may God bless ur families and ur household in multiple fold

if nigerian government wants to end boko haram within 24hrs boko will seize to exist but the useless government that sponsors the terrorist dont want it to end

What a time in the History of this country. Whosoever gave the shooting Order made a mistake of his life.

As you can see that even the restriction of moment didn't even work for them

Soldiers no be police. They don't need shooting order b4 they shoot. They take action base situation at hand. On a personal level, if they feel provoked, they are licenced to respond.

I think those leki soldiers we're too over zealous in trying to please their masters thinking people will runway when they start shooting or when there is casualties
