Our country is at a critical moment.
The youths declared that they had had enough.
The protests were patriotic calls for a new Nigeria.
For the first time in a long time, Nigerians (mostly) from the south) spoke with one voice.

It is easy to know how this unity threatens those who want things to remain the same.
This includes all politicians. But especially the "born-to-rule" who believe they own Nigeria.
They have never criticized the "unacceptable" nepotism of the Buhari government. Why would they, when they are the beneficiaries of the it?

From the NNPC to the CBN and from DSS to EFCC, all institutions of government, including public service positions have been occupied by northerners with flagrant disregard for the national character clause in our constitution.

All southerners (the middle belt inconclusive), including the yorubas and the igbos, are victims of Buhari´s nepotism and selective favouritism.
There is nothing they fear more than the unity of the south. They know that Nigeria will cease to exist (at least, in the way that it is) when the whole south speak with one voice.

So the current attempt to bring tribal colouring into the #ENDSARS protests is engineered by them. You now hear those trying to accuse the Igbo for the violence in Lagos. These are not well meaning yorubas. They are agents of the north desperately trying to bring back the disunity among the south. The #ENDARS movement has no tribalism or ethnicity to it. Indeed, it represents the entire youth of the nation. It is a shame that most youth in the north did not join the protest, again due to the points already made above.

A few questions:
Did soldiers shoot at protesters at Lekki tollgate? Yes they did.
Why would soldiers be used to shoot unarmed youths who were simply asking for their right to live?

What is the Way Forward?
The president has failed. Everyone knows that. But is it a shame.
If he had addressed the youths, like a father would do, things would never have gotten to this level. It was obvious that the anger was real and deep. The use of force could never have worked. And let me say that no government can win a fight with her youth.

If all the youth in Nigeria were to take to the streets in one day, even the president will beg to be allowed to resign

Here are steps that can easily resolve all the crises:

1. Sack all the service chiefs, including the IGP
2. Apologize to the youths for the action of the government and the military
3. Immediately implement all the demands stated in the #ENDSARS protest
4. Initiate a clear process for national healing. This will include discussions of the nationhood of Nigeria and the inevitable question of restructuring.
5. The police cannot be fully reformed until state police is created and implemented.

To be continued...

By now you should have noticed an up well in accounts claiming everything from the Lekki Massacre being a fake video to Insecurity news in the North being entirely manufactured by bad actors.

They are everywhere, from Reddit to Nairaland, from Facebook to Twitter.

This is to warm the Nigerian people and especially Nigerian youths that they are individuals paid off by the Nigerian government under "operation crocodile smile" to spam falsehoods all across the internet, denying truths that we see with our eyes like Lekki and pushing pro government Propaganda.

This tactic is very similar to what has been called by Westerners "50 cent army" in relation to China, using paid accounts to spread Propaganda and lies useful to their government.

This isn't the first time that Nigeria has done this, in Nairaland some have called the the "200 Laptops", but this time they are in full force. They are typically new accounts and all their posts are anti-protesters, anti-change, pro-military and pro-government

And it isn't limited to spreading disinformation but also promoting Tribalism. Everything in Nigeria works with divide and conquer tactics in mind, from our armed forces to Bureaucracy and this protests have shown a level of unity never seen.

So they are also trying to use tribal grievances to break up the protests. Don't let them win, Youths of Nigeria, remain united. And they often pretend to be of another tribe to spread the division better so don't trust names that sound like from your tribe when they are spreading division.

Forgive the Youths of today for the Sins of their Fathers and remember that you have the same enemy, the Nigerian government and most importantly be wise, shrew and thriftful. Don't let their tactics succeed but still ensure that you purge the actual bad elements from their personal behaviour because that is another tactic that they use, to fill peaceful movements with saboteurs.

Learn to use the word SOUTH.
Whether we remain together after we win this, is immaterial for now.

Also we Dont want dictatorship.
We just want to be humans as GOD created us to live.
Freedom, justice, peace and progress.

Beware, a lot of monikers on this thread are not Yorubas or Ibos.
You can recognise them easily because they always try to bring in the tribal angle to disunite the SOUTH

Ibos, also beware when these same monikers try to derail you

Yorubas, also beware when these same monikers try to derail you.

Don't insult the IBO or Yoruba tribe but the moniker instead.

SOUTH wake up o!

Well, they seem not to be here yet.
Anyways, we don't want dictatorship.
