There is an African saying: A child whose village doesn't show love will burn it down to feel its warmth. When I see touts running amok and burning down businesses and stealing food, I see victims. I don't see touts. Don't get me wrong. I don't support what they are doing but I understand that society has failed them. Their country has failed them. Nigeria has failed them. What I would do if I had the money; 1) Create Jobs 2) Create Jobs 3) Create Jobs People underestimate the power of having jobs and how much trouble it saves a society. There is a reason why governments are scared when unemployment is high. Competent governments swing into action. Incompetent governments ignore it. 2 Likes |
