The Igbo Community in Kano has apologised to the state government and residents over the recent violence and destruction of property as a result of the EndSARS protest

The Igbo leader in Kano, Igwe Boniface Igbokwe made the call while briefing newsmen shortly after stakeholders meeting organised on the issue on Saturday in Kano.

The stakeholders meeting was organised by the Chairman, Fagge Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehi.

Solacebase reports that violent protest in Kano on Tuesday claimed 4 lives, 15 vehicles burnt, stores looted and many houses destroyed.

According to Igbokwe, who is also the Co-Chairman, Kano State peace Committee, the act by the youths in the Sabon Gari area must be condemned, saying it is not the character of true Igbo.

He added that the Igbo Community in Kano is not in support of such evil acts, describing it as a criminal act.

While calling on his subjects to desist from such unacceptable acts, commended the state government for its proactive measures.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police in Kano, Abu Sani urged the Community leaders in Kano, especially the Igbos to warn their subjects against any act capable of breaking the existing peace in the State.

The Commissioner, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of operations, Balarabe Sule, said the police in Kano will no longer tolerate any act of violent protest that can stop people in Kano from their normal activities.
The organisers are of the protest are on contract and mission to break the peace and unity in Kano, and they will never achieve that.

.”Therefore, you should talk to your people to remain in peace as from today, the protesters are hoodlums, crooks, criminals and faceless people who have nothing doing.

“They only used the opportunity to break people property, to steal and break the existing peace in the area.

Government Area, Ibrahim Shehi said the stakeholders meeting discussed on the security issues and a way forward.

He assured that with the stakeholders meeting, such criminal act will never happen in the area and the state in general.

Shehi also commended the State government for its tireless efforts towards ensuring the safety of people and their properties in the State.

When some of us blamed igbos and some stupiid Yorubas for destruction of properties in Lagos, we were abused for it. Ibo do not hide their hatred for the development of Lagos and some Yoruba states and can do anything to sabotage or truncate her development. Now that they accepted the responsibility for Kano violence protest and destruction of property, Now, we await them to take responsibility for Lagos' having brainwashed some Yorubas

Bro , this is serious oo.. is it the Igbos that are burning in Osun , Oyo, Kwara , Ogun , Delta , Rivers , Edo , Cross River .... .... The Lagos Island boys that invaded the oba's palace are also Igbos ??... An Igbo man once told me that Yoruba are the most tribalistic human on health , I doubted him, but with what has happened in this lockdown , I have confirmed it....even a governor like Ogbeni Rotimi Aketi that married an igbo ... Also said similar thing... Even in this clear peoole movement taking place all over the southern states... I see it at cowardice on the part of the Yoruba people trying to please the Hausa who are not in support of the protest ... But let it be known now. The north are facing more serious challenge but they don't want to SoroSoke becuas their own is their ...Why is more yoruba blaming strangers for this great movement shaking our leaders ??, What do they stand to gain ?.... Infact , we are going to have our own Niger Delta Republic too, Nigeria will never work , because the tribal and religious card is working for the leaders.

As soon as I clicked the link and saw the name of the writer it all made sense. undecided

I was in support of Biafra thru diplomatic means but the events of the past few days have shown that we must achieve it by any means possible. We need to get away from them.

Truth is igbos are not expected to participate in violent acts in others states outside the south east.

You can't hear of yorubas or hausa causing violence in the east all in the name of #endsars.

Many tribes have alot of negative feelings about igbos, that is why they should remain calm and face their businesses instead of joining indegense to ferment trouble.

The problem with igbos is that they always see everywhere as there homes, especially if they have stayed very long in the place.

Nigeria is supposed to be everybody's home but unfortunately it is not so.

Learn to stay calm, face your front and respect your host.
So that nobody can point accusing fingers at you.

They started the thing in their stronghold in the Sabon Gari area, thinking it would spread into other areas in the state, like in the SW/Lagos where they helped the Yoruba to destroy their infrastructure and economy - but we quickly saw through their thinly veiled treacherous agenda and promptly reigned back our youths, who sensibly complied.
