To all those paying lips service to restructuring, the recent EndSARS protest should have made them to do a rethink, but obviously like the proverbial fly that follows the dead corpse to the grave they will as usual bury their heads in the sands thinking the wave would pass and life goes on. Unfortunately for them Nigerians are not quick at learning new thing, but when they do, then it becomes pervasive and prevalent until that trick becomes obsolete.

A quick example, the 'business' of kidnapping for ransom was not known to Nigerians until Niger-Delta militants started hostage taking to force government to accede to their demands. From this approach of taking oil workers hostage, they started demanding ransom. The ugly trend soon spread across the length and breath of Nigeria, such that today, criminals see it as the easier means of making money than armed robbery and burglary. Same can be said of the 'yahoo-yahoo' menace. It started with the likes of Ajudua in the guise of advanced fee fraud, soon it metamorphosed into what is now a huge crime of international dimension that Nigeria's Criminal code 419 is reputed world-over as the alternate name for internet fraud.

The recent EndSARS protest and the subsequent looting and vandalism has just awaken the huge population of under and unemployed over 150million youth of Nigeria. A country with youthful population of over 100 million out of which about 75% of them are either unemployed or under-employed is a timebomb waiting to explode. Unfortunately, for our leaders, these group of people now know that with social media, 20 to 40 of them can quickly ignite fire and it spread. Just a few comments on tweeter and facebook or whatsapp can create a group and before you say jack, looting, banditry etc will follow. This is the new deal. Internet fraud requires some level of education, kidnapping requires some level of skill and bravery, unfortunately, mob attack and looting requires just joining and the crowd effect. To me, Nigeria is in for a big showdown. These protesters and looters may retire today, but watch out in 3 months, they will regroup and unfortunately, the army and police are not better-off, they are also disgruntled. Poor pay, lack of adequate welfare, etc, while politicians live in opulence. It is a bleak future for these people.

This calls for immediate restructuring of Nigeria. Today, ethnic hatred has heightened and our leaders are not even ready to admit it and to address it. If we think that the status quo will be maintained, we would soon realise that we do not have a nation again. The time is now, let us revisit the 2014 confab report and act on them. My simple thinking is that if we dust that document now and address some of the key recommendations, we will save Nigeria. If we refuse to, then bye-bye to the country called Nigeria. I know that there are people who are more "patriotic" than I, who will come and rain abuses and all sort. please, to such, go and read the story of Yugoslavia.

Some of you write without thinking. Education goes beyond having a certificate. Go and finish school before you comment!

And who are the people going to lead the campaign for restructuring? Hope you are not counting on the politicians
Re: The Time To Restructure Nigeria is NOW! by SoBright101: 9:08pm On Oct 25, 2020
I swear, we must restructure this country or we remain stagnant. A region cannot be feeding the whole nation while other region look down on the one that feeds them.

Beware Nigerians. This is the time to know and understand the true identity of those who cause tribalism on here, they are paid agents, they are neither from east or west. They have more than twenty accounts, they would create tribal topics and make tribal comments with another accounts to cause chaos between southerners. Though, they have no conscience but you can try to educate them or better ignore them. They are easy to identify, use your head brothers.

They dominates this platform, they are agents of destruction. They are evil.

Thanks for your submission. In Africa people have poor skill in crisis management. It eventually lead to war after war.
The ruling class urgently need to do something about our situation before it degenerates into something very bad.

What I saw in Enugu known for peace this week showed me that we are in for a big trouble in this country. People are hungry
and waiting for any opportunity to vent their anger.

Please worry about what will eventually become your country. It is very silly to worry about Republic of Igbo land which will never grant citizenship to your class of intellect.

Don't be convinced with their dubious yoruba or igbo monikers

As the days pass by I become more and more convinced by the IQ studies done by the whiteman that shows on average the African man posses a low IQ.
Nigeria's average IQ is about 84.

The US military doesn't even accept people with an IQ under 83 as tested by there Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), because there is nothing these type of people can be taught to do that will not be counter productive. And this is coming from a government body that is always looking for and is ready to accept new recruits.

So in this country's case probably more than half the population falls below this category.

How does IQ manifests as seen in real life people?

Well simple it manifests in the form of the scale and resolution of one's thoughts, capacity for reasoning and logic, problem solving abilities, speed and capacity to learning a new skill and abstract concepts, and creativity to an extent.
Though what determines a person's IQ is a combination of genetics and environmental factors.

Nigeria wasn't the only country colonised, nor F**ed over by it's leaders, insecurity and previous wars, but somehow how we remain unable to fix our problems and move forward. Especially when you look at Asian countries that were in our shoes.

As long as the discussion being had in the country still remains low resolution tribal blame games and party politics, without trying to learn from history and previous mistakes, acknowledging the problems and proposing solutions. Nothing is ever going to change for the better.
Restructuring is one of the better ideas proposed, but with the amount of neophobia in the older generation will it really be pushed forward?

Restructure now! No more, no less. The level of patriotism is very very low. People don't believe in centralised Nigeria any more.

Some people are just not smart. The guy shouting igr does not know that Lagos is a business capital territory. No longer a Yoruba enclave. Only places like Ibadan, Oshogbo and Arigbidi are Yoruba envlave. Just as the Bwaris can no longer lay claims to Abuja, yorubs cannot lay claim to Lagos.

Lagos is in SW Nigeria, Lagos is just like every other states.

Is their any difference between Lagos and other states? Like Ebonyi, Kebbi, Ondo, Kano?

What are you smoking?

How is Lagos no longer a Yoruba enclave? Dead brain everywhere.

Imagine how ethnocentrism has affected your sense of reasoning... you sounded smart with your topic but so so dumb with this comment . Well , It takes a highly intelligent Nigerian to think objectively without ethnic and religious sentiment though ...
