FGN is the biggest purveyor of fake news ;
1. BH technically defeated ; Chad President disproved the claim with his offensive. How many lives were lost as a result since this fake news ?
2. Only ~300 Shi'ites were killed in the incident with Burutai's convoy ; Amnesty and HRW estimate 3 times that number were killed.
3. A person without NYSC certificate becomes Min. Finance as a sign of sanitising public office. How many other appointees have dodgy credentials ?
4. GEJ failed on insecurity in the North. PMB is succeeding in taming ze variousz zecurity challenges. How many ppl have fallen to rampaging herdsmen and professional kidnapping gangs ?
5. Aisha Buhari claims a "cabal" exists in the Presidency. She is pilloried as a garrulous wench who should play the role of demur Northern spouse in ze oza room. Abba Kyari passes and the AGF and EFCC Chairman are in open warfare about recovered monies, anti corruption fight and constituted authorities.
To name a few.
Why deploy armed soldiers to disperse peaceful protesters if not to shoot ? Were they deployed with batons and gear typically issued to riot police ?
This is strategy 3 in the govt counter narrative; it also shines a light into the thinking behind the various attempts at social media restrictions this regime has floated only to be shot down in a barrage of criticism.
As someone above noted, silencing celebrities is a complete misunderstanding of the deep problems we are facing in this country. They can't keep that same energy to probe why this govt has been a monumental failure in everything BUT palliatives distribution.
And if we don't pursue solutions in a transparent and sincere manner, the next conflagration will make this one look like child's play.

undecided celebrities from the pit of Hell.. They should all be rounded up and dealt with accordingly.. After they've been ruthlessly dealt with, they should, by the court, be ordered to pay for all damages caused, and if the celebrity is a pastor, be made to resurrect the victims of their fake news and lawlessness.. This would serve as a deterrent to all fake news purveyors, celebrity or not..

Nigeria must be great.. By fire, by force!
Your senses are practicing social distancing
Why on earth will the military shoot at unarmed protesters, directly, in the dark, why on earth will you switch of the cctv camera and light at toll gate, all of you saying lekki massacre didn't happen will not die well, those people were the voice, when foolish idiots like you were nowhere to be found

Nothing annoys me more than seeing "the world is watching" or "tag the world to see".
which world is watching? is the same world not watching Congo? Didn't the same world watch Libya become a testing ground for world powers?

you'll had better fight your battles yourself.

We want a saner Nigeria, we want a moderate use of social media, we want moderated social media bill Against people like you that sees fake news as a norm.

If you're fined a million for unsubstantiated news, you'll rethink before you post next time.

WE NEED SOCIAL MEDIA BILL

It's an honor being in that list than in government of denial.

Beware Nigerians. This is the time to know and understand the true identity of those who cause tribalism on here, they are paid agents, they are neither from east or west. They have more than twenty accounts, they would create tribal topics and make tribal comments with another accounts to cause chaos between southerners. Though, they have no conscience but you can try to educate them or better ignore them. They are easy to identify, they posts mostly in the midnight. Use your head brothers.

Word!!!

Exactly, they post mostly in the midnight so that they would fill the thread with tribal words.

Them no go add Lai Mohammed and Lauretta Onoche

When you lit the names of chronic sinners, do you put the Devil's name? He is the father of sinners, so you don't include his (Devil) name in the list of sinners. Why then would you list Lai Mohammed and Lauretta Onoche in the list of fake news spreaders when they are actually the fake news itself?

All I see is the government trying so hard to discredit what happened at the Lekki Tollgate. Only fools will believe these. Abeg Nigerians are wiser now and their nyash has been fully opened. All these are medicine after death.

Fake news is bad, we know. That is why we should learn to think deep and measure a situation. But what we see here is just a tactic. Nigerian government is now playing the victim, talking about the dangers of fake news and social media: they are trying silence masses one means or the other. Now, they've brought out a list of almost every celebrity who supported the #endsars protest - it's a tactic. This is to scare celebs from ever speaking out. Since these celebs are influential and tend to represent the youths one means or the other.
If celebs can be sanctioned for lending their voice and fighting for a cause, what more the commoner ?
Now the govt is preaching peace, as if they care about us.
Nigerian government and its politicians may not be proactive but they are very, very cunning, especially when it comes to protecting their power. They are trying to suppress the remaining voice left of the people.

Sadly, Lagos made all of them.
Lagos gave them the platform to become whatever they are today. Perhaps apart from Aisha Yesufu who has lived all her life in Northern Nigeria.

Fantastic! We should believe the Nigerian Army, same army that massacred people in Zaria, Odi and Zaki Biam yet denied it until conformted with evidence. Well done, you are doing well, indeed.
