As received from several persons, the price of Onions in South-South and South-East states seems to have taken an upward turn. As seen online, prices of onions have grown almost over a 100%. A man complained online of his wife buying 4 pieces of onions for 500 Naira and another got 5 smaller pieces for same price. The growth in price has been linked to the burning of the Onion Market in Aba. As reported by a twitter user, Omasoro Ali Ovie, following the events of the protest and aggravation of IPOB, trucks used for transporting onions from the north were burnt at first then the onion market itself was burnt down. This was said in response to a twitter user Jess who asked why there’s no Onion in Owerri. This is part of the lessons for us to follow peaceful dialogue and know that the pain of whatsoever damages will cause in the pursuit of our desires will be borne by us and not the people will intend to punish. As it is right now, the arsonists who are largely low income earners are also part of those who will bear the pain. They may not use onion to cook but ‘Aboki’ will not have onions for the Suya they’ll buy. https://wawublog.com/2020/10/29/reason-onions-are-expensive-in-south-south-south-east 1 Like 1 Share

Omasoro has sumtin to say.. I listened to one of Nnamdi kanu broadcast during the burning down of Lagos and I was opportuned to go tru his Facebook post, honestly I had mixed feelings.. 1st, I was impressed... Kanu is an intelligent man.. He speak the truth in a crude way... I was touched and I saw reality in most of what he say.. Honestly, I admire Kanu alot and I will try to be listening to his programs now. 2nd and worst part, the violence he incites is what I don't like in his broadcast.. Seems the followers are more obedient to the violent part than the wisdom and revelations he gives. I hate that part of inciting violence... Violence begat violence and a number of his people may suffer for it.. Not in south east but in other part of the nation...... But I don't wanna bliv that it was IPOB that burnt down markets in Aba, their hometown?. Maybe more evidence Sha. Cc: imhotep ![]() 1 Like

Shall we say that FG caused ordinary Nigerians to burn facilities that they use? Deeds done in a moment of anger can have repercussions that last for decades. #we can protest peacefully. The consequences of violence can be massive. |

It is so true. IPOB hijacked the EndSARS and turned it to a tribal war not minding the consequences. Like I always say Kanu will cause more harm to the Igbos than good. How can u burn trucks bringing food when you don't have enough in your place. Now Kanu is hiding in a hole in the UK he gets his complete daily meal without stress but he instigated his miscreants back home to burn down food trucks 7 Likes 4 Shares |

Every action has its consequences.. For me I don't believe in random burning of things that will affect one later.. Personal businesses burnt were not necessary, no excuse at all |

Onions were already scanty in the markets and expensive before the protests started. So this can't be the major reason. 3 Likes |

Onions and Tomatoes were already getting costly before the protest but the raiding and burning of the produce mkt in Aba cemented it. trucks of yams, watermelons and Onions were looted. Nnamdi Kanu bu onye aburu onu. A cursed being .Let him keep deceiving these young men Anybody fanning the embers of hatred and stoking the fires of war should come and lead from the front. I can't associate myself with any movt whose leader lacks decorum and curses at will. He is a fit candidate for a mental institution. 1 Like 1 Share |

Is onions cheap in Lagos? Is the Onions market in Aba supplying every market in Igbonland and the South West? What happened to the Onions in the commodity markets is in Rivers, Owerri, Enugu, Abakilili? What happened to the onions at Ahia Ohuru in Aba? Please let's not give voice to the wickedness of traders who will Jack up prices of goods because of the protest. Yes, there will be consequences for the foolishness of IPOBs for burning the market in Aba but that does not in any way explain the hike in price in Lagos and elsewhere. 1 Like |

Time to grow your own onions. Nigerians will always look at a business opportunity as a reason to complain then complain about not having money. |

Chukwutobi:Onions take 90 days to grow. Start one patch, wait 30 days do another, wait 30 days do another. etc. You will reach a point where you're producing monthly. Name a business that will give you genuine ROI in 90 days. |
