The member representing Apapa I constituency, Honorable Jimoh Wahab has also shared his thoughts on the social media bill. The lawmaker said 'there's a way this social media can be controlled, in Dubai for example, you can't just post anything on social media because it is controlled by the government, and as such, should be looked into in Nigeria.'

Why are these wicked leaders so quick in comparing Nigeria to all these countries when they want to silence its citizens but they will never compare them in terms of how life is meaningful over there.

Not In Nigeria

grin grin

Why would anyone want to "just post anything in Dubai" when there is nothing to make them just post anything.

The refineries are working in Dubai
They have a well organised public transport.
Minimum wage can take them home
Good roads
Good education
Electricity is constant.
Security is guaranteed. They don't have SARS and police that take pride in killing their own citizens because of N20 or Army that will shoot at harmless people

All these are available because they don't have selfish, greedy, parochial politicians/rulers at the helm.

It's a shame that Lagos that is supposed to be the fulcrum for freedom of speech in Nigeria is being led by its useless house members to lead the war against free speech of the Buhari govt

Arrrrrrrh

Dubai for example, you can't just post anything on social media because it is controlled by the government,

Really? You are partially right.
If we can't air our feelings, pain and anger or post anything then the leaders should not air any speculation or charade news either.

How will a sane man be thinking of another lock down?

The N - power news have just die, but they were posting it online, we would recruit 4OO,OOO Nigerians, did we see it? NO!!

So I think if the regulations on social media is implemented, the leaders, official are not exempted from the laws like us a common citizens.

Their government in dubai is accountable. Do do we have accountable politicians?

cool

Only fake news miscreants and hoodlums fear a regulated Social Media, even Liberals never stopped Donald Trump and his social media regulations Executive order

Cursed black monkeys want development like Dubai, Tinubu gave them a BRT special lane with metro busses with charging port and Air-conditioning system but they burnt it

You want world class infrastructure like Lekki Ikoyi bridge and link roads built by Private Public Partnership but you don't want to pay tax or Toll

So you are comparing a sane society like Dubai where things are done without much public outcry to Nigeria where our leader are crooks ,criminal minded, and irresponsible.

If Nigeria leaders can be half responsible as their Dubai counterpart, I bet you,Nigerians won't even post anything like criticism not to talk of false news

The government barely want to punish inciteful post that lead to violence

In France, if you post my nude pics without my permission you get fined €12,000 on average

The bill should be considered too in our country. The destruction in Lagos was caused due to inciting comments and fake news on social media. Someone like Dj Switch should have behind the bar if the law is in place.

There is no freedom that Nigerians don't misuse. Freedom to protest turns to freedom to loot

China,UAE they alway reference is not a democracy. And their leaders provide citizens basic amenities such as 24 hour electricty, good road network, healthcare, sewage treatment and world class education.

Nigerian leaders now launder most of their loot buying property in UAE.
