The government should not try to stifle the social media because it will seriously boomerang! The youths are already way way ahead in it and it's one major source of power that the youths won't give up easily. The fight to keep this social media power I believe will make the #endsars battle look like a child's play.

AnanseK:

We have to copy China, so that we can develop. Media has to be regulated.
It cannot be left to the discretion of immature and irresponsible louts and hooligans.
We should also copy China in executing corrupt govt officials.
we should also copy China in how they have an organized society, also copy them in health care and. Good governance.

We cannot cherry pick what to copy

When these people start talking like this you can only guess where it would end

They want to create a choke hold over social media , limiting what people post and change the narrative. The Lekki shootings is a good case study.

In a democracy you cannot stifle dissenting voices, so that is the more reason the government have to be on its toes at all times and ensure that they do the right thing always

The same tiger they rode to power, they want to kill? You lie!!!!

Like someone once said

What is good for the goose, is good for the "Uganda"

Distribution of lies and fake news is not part of democracy. What are you enjoying in distribution of lies and fake news? When someone lies against you do you feel happy because you are in democracy?
Government is not planning to stop lazy youths from doing the only thing that makes them happy staying on social media.
But lying on social media is a cyber crime everywhere in the world.

I agree with you that some people have abused social media by spreading lies but gagging mass media is akin to throwing the baby with the bath tub

Let us be true to ourselves.
Has this government be truthful
Have they shown accountability

He that wants equity must come with clean hands

How can u in all honestly push down the ladder you used to climb to power

We should be ready to tell ourselves the painful Truth

This guy that sued Twitter said his own, it isn't inciting.

Coomasie said an inciting comment, yet it want inciting enough.

El Rufai and others have threatened other peoples of Nigeria, yet it is not inciting.
