Lekki Shootings: Amnesty International Demands Justice by opeldavid: 1:13pm On Oct 31, 2020
The international human rights organisation popularly known as Amnesty International has called for thorough investigations into the shootings and killings of peaceful protesters which occurred at the Lekki toll gate by uniformed men perceived to be member from the military against young Nigerians holding the Nigerian flags and singing the national anthem.

According to the Amnesty International, they have evidence from live stream satellite video coverage that shows when some soldiers left the Bonny camp in Lagos at exactly 6:29pm and therefore called on the Nigerian government to institute an independent investigation into the killings and bring to book those responsible for this heinous crime and wanton shootings against harmless citizens and also accused the government of always covering up for the military any time such dastard act is carried out.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army have denied any shooting or killing of peaceful protesters and stated that the Lagos state governor invited them to maintain peace and order during the announcement of curfew in the state.
