These people are funny. Nigerians I know, are very creative. I'm 100% sure, Nigerians will create a social media or whatever within a week. Maybe that will make use of Bluetooth or so. 134 Likes 4 Shares |

It seems these folks are senile. The are enough laws criminalizing misinformation, fraud etc on the internet. The only problem is enforcement. If I truly want to spread fake news, dies NIgeria have the technology to trace me? What else can they do apart from IP and IMEI tracing? tracing Work on development and forget this trash. 31 Likes 2 Shares |

The same social media that was good when you use it in 2015 to snatch power from the opposition party, now that its against you in 2020 you want to shut it down. Why are you changing the goal-post, are you a clown? Anyway like the person above me has said, its a www thing, we already know how to sail our ship 28 Likes |

Ishilove:Nothing but the truth! How did some people misunderstand Desmond Elliot asking that the speaker 'ADDRESS' the impressions social media influencers and the youths were popularizing about their bad governance and rotten system, and interpret it as meaning that he was asking that the government 'regulate' Nigerian social media altogether? He expressed his dismay at the negativity and toxicity on Nigerian social media( which if we are to be realistic and sincere to ourselves we would agree to some extent). At what point does this mean that he was asking the speaker to shut down or regulate social media? Is Facebook not even already 'regulating' negativity on their platform by taking down posts with excessive abusive speech? Does Nigeria operate a communist system like China that we would assume that regulating social media is even possible? How can we rush to conclusions without fully analysing language and syntax? Some Naija youths, think please. pocohantas: I thought I am the one that noticed this. I thought I was the one along with very few members that only go against the tide here. I thought.......... Wow! You are wise Pocohontas! You and Ishilove!! #RESPECT 3 Likes 2 Shares |

There Is No Single Off Switch Right, down to it, the issue with turning the internet off is that the internet isn't actually run or controlled by one central location; there is no kill switch as it were. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria cannot 'shut' down the social media. The country is too backward to be that innovative. Plus, it is unrealistic for a bunch of analogue-minded people to think they can pull it off in this age and time, and worse, against a 'phone pressing' generation. 9 Likes |

In a country where citizens don't have right to life, good health, education, food and shelter, hairstyle and dress choice, is it right to cyber space they have? The only thing I know is that u guys (the government) couldn't shut it that's while they didn't! 3 Likes |
