Hmm.... That's sad. Our value added tax is almost x3 of what MTN generate as a telecommunication company in Nigeria. Nigerians need to wakeup and change the narrative. That tax can't support 5 States if that money is spent judiciously. 1 Like |

TecM0: Purchasing power is very low in Nigeria na. It is the poverty capital of the world. And has the worse middle class in the world. The govt spend so much on over head maintenance of political office holders while they spend a little on critical infrastructure. Also, the govt over the years, through bias, has refused to massively invest in regions with Greta human resource potentials. U see naija, it is a time bomb. Poverty, pls illiteracy, plus high population gives u time bomb waiting to explode. |

These figures can be quite deceptive. Changing these figures to the value of the dollar as at then may show that it wasn't that much of an improvement. |

TecM0:Shut up! Nigeria has a very low VAT percentage to compare with SA. 2)How do you get VAT from people in the informal sector?Aba market,Ariaria, onitsha main market,orile,etc... So how did you deduce purchasing power is low due to VAT when the system cannot account for each trade to collect VAT(too informal) from in the first place? |

TecM0:Nigeria is not poor. It's Nigerians that are poor. We have a leader who has 9 jets to his office. While about 112m can't afford 9 pieces of bottled water. |

If only the generated funds will be used to fight economy crisis, the hardship will drop but they rather embezzle and buy house abroad. Very useless set of leaders |
