Lol. Once upon a time old Kano and Lagos had very similar population and the same number of LGAs. By 1996, Jigawa state was created out of Kano and more lgas were also created inside the new Kano. Today the new Kano state has 44 lgas while Lagos still remains with 20lgas. Jigawa state today has 27 lgas and claim a population of over 5 million people. So, adding both states together old Kano state has 71 lgas with a population of about 25 million people despite the numerous ethnoreligious killings and emigration from there whereas Lagos has an estimated 20million and 20lgas only. Recall that immigration into Lagos is the highest in Nigeria and there has not been any cause for any mass emigration from there. More companies have been built in Lagos unlike Kano where more companies have been forced to shutdown. Now tell me how Kano should even be compared with Lagos?
