I know it might sound somehow , but try to check the tribe of those blaming lugard.

They are the same set of people who have been blaming other people for their own failures without taking some sec to check their own actions.

They blame other tribes , they blame other religion , they blame the British, they abuse anyone who is not holding the same ideology with them.

What were their forefathers doing when lugard was doing his thing.

Tinubu is currently their biggest problem.
They were the ones who removed secession clause. They were the ones who dissolved regional government. It was them, through their evil and cowardly action of the first and most bloody coup, who gave the North their undue advantage on governance over the years. They caused EVERYTHING. But of course, the British dude Lord Lugard of 100 years ago is the problem.

The way they cry and wail when things are not in their favour is really irritating. Their land is inhabitable but give them little space and opportunity to thrive in your land and come and see how their shamelessness and inferiority complex would be pushing them to chest beat that they own your land. They are parasite to their host communities both within and outside Nigeria. I guess they're enjoying the privilege of 'One Nigeria' if not , we should have given them the South Africa treatment.

They're blaming the wrong person.

Azikiwe was the one that insisted on one Nigeria when the north and the west were hesitated because of there apprehension that the mistrust among tribes may affect negatively the new country.

We were never really one country anytime.

On a very good day, I wouldn't reply this - it sounds so tribalistic; and tribalism is for little minds.
But I would take an exception and reply this.
First of all, it is wrong to say a particular ethnic group is the cause of this or that, ethnic nations comprises millions of people.

Lugard knew it was wrong to amalgamate people of different VALUE SYSTEMS - irrespective of their tribe or nationality - yet he went ahead to carry out his EXPERIMENT for ADMINISTRATIVE CONVENIENCE; that is bad.

Azikiwe (NOT Igbo) clamoured for one-Nigeria without a secession clause; if you listened to him, you would see reasons with him that Africa needed a big federation, since it was in line with his pan Africanism (ideology), although, he was delusional for believing the different value systems in the Nigerian state wouldn't be a problem in the long run.

Nzeogwu and his friends - including Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas, etc - (NOT Igbo) carried out the first coup, believing they could salvage the irredeemable Nigeria by force; another bunch of delusional twats.

Ironsi (NOT Igbo) proposed the idea of a unitary system, believing a unitary system would help keep his favourite Nigeria, united; another delusional Arrow that paid with his blood.
Ironically, those who killed Ironsi for proposing the unitary system went ahead to perfect it, which begs the question.

Those clamouring for secession clause ab initio, had an opportunity to support the call in 1967, instead decided to join the gang-up to keep Nigeria one, which also begs the question.

If u're looking for whom to blame for the undue advantage the North enjoys politically in Nigeria, blame those (every single one of them, irrespective of his tribe or ethnic nationality) who fought AGAINST confederation, resource control, regional autonomy, etc between 1967 to 1970 (those were the conflicting ideologies in the war of '67 - '70).

The same foolish sentiments (devoid of reason) that drove people in 1967 is still controlling people in this era.

Think! It is still legal.

How can it turn great?

Why didn't he forcefully merge Britain and their neighbors?

Why is Britain going away from EU?

How can you merge people with extremely different cultures, religion, and basic human aspirations and expect it to be great?

Europeans of similar characteristics didn't cope, talk more of Africans.

Tell me.

Nigeria is an experiment, a project and it has not succeeded.

Don't be myopic.

If you look into this country matter well, Nigerian generals deliberately stole tens of billion of dollars.

The biggest blame on them.

What of buhari/ idiagbon and their bandit that terminated a civilian government. They dragged the country backward in decades.
Blame them they're also criminals that destroyed the country.

YOU can go ahead and do it, and stop hiding under the guise of "WE."

If you can reason beyond your scale, you would have known that all you accused people of doing was as a result of the forced amalgamation. If there was no amalgamation, there won't be any need for removing any clause, or coup, or regional government in the first place.

The north have over 100% similarities with the people of Chad and Niger. That's where the amalgamation should have taken place.

After voting in a new governor, what control does he have over federal roads, airport, rail system which is controlled by the FG?

What powers does he have in FG receiving one trillion dollar loan for the country, and putting all the projects in the north?

You have no understanding of how a federal system works.

What business does a governor have with federal projects?

You have to learn how to distinguish a federal project from states allocation first.

Bro, change the statement. ...Southerners will jump at the slightest chance to divided Nigeria. it is the North who like doing there own things to favour them only yet shout Nigerian unity is non-negotiable n indivisible. what would have been best for this country is true federalism !
