there are 2 methods to use in solving this - Substitution and elimination method... but let's use substitution method.

In question a) and b)... make X or Y subhect of the formula in equation 1 let's use X

The go ahead and input the value u got for X into equation 2. This should leave you with a linear equation from which you can easily calculate your Y.

Come bk to eqn 1, input the value of Y to arrive at X...

Will send in pictures of d solution later in d day if it still proves difficult for u to solve.

You tried but you made a slight mistake while opening your brackets(remember you're multiplying by a minus for both terms inside x). When you do that, your answer should give you when x=5.235295 y= -2.17647 and when x=4 y= -3
