Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has come out to air his opinion on the proposed social media regulation bill.

Speaking to Channels Tv in an interview via skype, the governor made it clear he was for the social media regulation bill, adding that Political Gunshots are nothing compared to fake news.

He said if people want to say people died at Lekki Toll gate, then the person should have concrete evidence, adding that the social media technology is used in China, Russia, and many other places, and can be implemented in Nigeria.

'If we cannot be disciplined enough to be able to know that we don't churn out news that can cause a lot of damage in the society, then the government itself must be proactive enough to find a way to control it', the governor said.

Aketi is a SAN, a man of fact! Am in support of the Social Media Bill. The only problem here is that citizens don't trust the leaders but know that Social Media Bill will be made law some day, I just hope that it won't happen when Fake had already destroyed us.
