1. Abia's budget is less than 200 billion naira

2.Univetsity probably wont see one billion of that

3.If you want a world class university you need probably twice the amount of Abia university budget

4. Fees are probably less than $200.

The thing is, if you want high quality graduates, you need high quality fees. Not scanty fees on top of scanty budgets

If you need quality fees, you need to provide quality jobs as a government. Not scanty jobs or even no job at all and still requesting quality fees.

So the poor cannot get quality education in this shit hole anymore? All the money that schools generate from multiple sources of student taxation, what can they point to have done with it to better the quality of education? Do you know the number of numerous payments a student makes in every school semester and year?

Those countries that pay higher for education, can you also check their standard of living, job opportunities, scholarships and education grants available from government, students loan facilities from government etc..

The painful thing is most of these useless leaders ruining our education system and requesting more and more money be paid by students even in the presence of no job, they all went to school on scholarship both home and abroad, fully sponsored by the then government.

We always have the wrong thinking in this country that the solution to all and every problem we have starts and ends with money money and more money!!...this is a very pathetic way to think, that is why you will see a whole state governor from January to December will do nothing to generate IGR in his state only to go to Abuja at the end of every month to collect allocation and cry that it is not enough to develop the state.

The problem is, we expect a Harvard level university with fees less than $300 per session.

Regardless of how bad the looters are, you cant fund a university adequately with that.

If you thnk Northern governors are not interested in education, just see how they pay their students who go to university bursary, and you will change your mind.(though some states would want you to work for their state in return when you graduate)

But they can afford it because relatively fewer Northern studets go to university. The minute Northern students reaches the level of Southern students at tertiary level , they might have problems paying up.
