Seun, this is very poor and unacceptable.
Actually there's nothing inciting here since the source of the news is from the Nations Newspapers and Brigadier General Taiwo?
Some unfortunate elements here on this forum tribalised the attacks so this revelation is very important.

It's up to the Lagos State government to compensate the owners of those business (Igbos and arrest the hoodlums behind the attacks.

This will probably result in igbo youths "retaliating" against few Yoruba investment in Igbo land, army then intervenes and kills so Igbo youths.

I'd grab my popcorn, chill and see how this plays out.
Igbos are smarter than these. The last thing an Igbo man will do is to retaliate to destroy your business. They rather rebuild from the scratch. As much as it's a lesson on my Igbo brothers part but I think it is insensitive for the army to bring up ethnicity into these.

Bro this is not about tribe the Army is only trying to bring it in ...the protest and vandalism was not base on tribe , but the truth is that the Igbos lost alots ... In Bode Thomas and Surulere in general , almost all big stores,shops, whare houses were looted , also in Agege , Ajegunle , Orile, Ajah, Lekki , most stores Admiralty way were all burnt, vandalize and looted in the name of protest and not against any tribe , But unfortunately, the IGBOs are the major owners of these damages, and the Army want to capitalise on that as a means to change the narrative and hide the truth, WE MUST BE WISE BRO

In all the things you mentioned, how many of them belong to private individuals? The General is making reference to private business and properties and he used the word MOST. For the things u mentioned, it is only TVC and Oba palace that belongs to private individuals, and Oriental hotel was never touched. So stop being sentimental

The army dude did not even say anything like that. Rather, he disputed the assertions of IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu and others who tried to the carnage and looting an ethnic coloration. According to him, Nnamdi Kanu supposedly released a tape saying that the looting and destruction were carried out by Igbos under IPOB, but the general refuted that by pointing out that the looters arrested were from many ethnic groups from all around Nigeria (which is not surprising, given that criminality often unites Nigerians cheesy) and that the businesses attacked were also owned by people from different ethnicities, including Igbos (and he rattled off a couple of Igbo-owned businesses looted). Crass click-baiting headline. SMH
