They should just increase it to 100% So that they can always take back all the salaries they paid us. Useless, thinkless, ignorant, irresponsible and irresponsible government ever. Buhari is dumb and he surrounds himself with dumbers. . What else do u expect? |

The Minister must be crazy to even think of increasing VAT again just after one year. What's really going on. A finance Minister with zero experience in managing any economy; zero innovation in creating job; zero creativity in discovering the huge potentials of this economy. You removed fuel subsidy where you claimed you have been spending billions yearly. What happened to the net gain from the subsidy removal?? You increased VAT by 2.5% in this same year. You devalued the Naira by over 30% also in this one year. Still you can't get hold of the benefits of all these tough adjustments. Let's believe she was misquoted because this cannot stand. Ask yourself Madam Minister, ' What have we really created?' |

Many Nigerians where pushing for ENDSARS# protests recently. . But indept ones will know that we have more core priorities / needs than SARs issue. The hudlums, thugs, yahooz all used them to achieve their purpose. . If we can be so zealous on such issues, governmental taxing should be one of the core, amongst others such as NEPA, Fuel Pricing, NURTW issue, DSTV, border closure etc. |

With all the tax paid so far, roads are still terribly bad. I mean, the ones that have been bad for ages. They are still bad. In fact, FG roads are worse especially in the southern part of Nigeria. With all the tax, we still lack good health care. I needed health care services few days ago, it was hell getting a good one. Nigeria is such a disappointment. What a shame. With all the tax, no housing, no 24/7 electricity, no water for us, the list goes on. Sincerely, if u have never been to a developed world, u won't know what it means to be living in 21 century. Nigeria is truly a zoo. Unfortunately, millions will live and die in Nigeria without tasting what 21 century life looks like |

Isinweke: This is what many southerners don't know. The burden of VAT falls more on the average class of the southern citizens unlike the northerners. This country milk southerners both in human and natural resources. 1 Like 1 Share |

And stealing, mismanagement continues. They keep increasing revenue without attempting to stop stealing, without attempting to invest in human development and massive infrastructural development. They are only concerned about themselves |

These guys are testing the waters to guage the reaction of the populace before actually deciding to go ahead with it. The best thing tight now is to vehemently reject the rubbish to let them know this is nonsense. |

This may not be right but please, give me Jonathan's alleged corrupt government in place of this corruption-busting government. Na this government reeeeeaaaaallly make me see how governmental policies dey affect the citizenry. Vote based on competence, you say no because person from ur tribe dey contest. Public office holders ought to be voted based on competence, and that's my sole reason for frowning at the zoning system or the Federal Character system adopted in almost everything. Vote wisely come 2023! |

After this Government regime, NIGERIANS will ask questions before voting for any politicians. Is this Government lifting people out of poverty as they said or forcing people into poverty, wretchedness and untimely death? This Government should please define to NIGERIANS the meaning of NEXT LEVEL as used by APC during their last presidential campaign Please do we still have NLC, TUC and NATIONAL HOUSE OF ASSEMBLIES MEMBERS ? May God help us in this country, AMEN |

NwokoloOwa: This is exactly what I say. I am not inflation averse as a result of taxation or subsidy cuts but where are the positive indices resulting from these high risk, high stress strategies. If we have elected for painful surgery after years of drawn out, ineffectual chemotheraphy then we should be seeing almost instant results. Some things should be getting better quickly whether in statistics or reality. The reality is however with the structure of goverment and of the country that whatever we 'save' by subsidy removal or 'gain' by additional taxation is lost to the same forces that put us in this position in the first place. 1 Like |
