LAUTECH Lecturer Wins Nigerian Academy Of Science Award by liltee123(m): 6:38pm On Nov 17, 2020 |
A lecturer at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Prof. Olugbenga Bello, emerged the winner of the Nigerian Academy of Science gold medal. This was contained in a statement on Monday by the Public Relations Officer of LAUTECH, Mr Lekan Fadeyi. He explained that the prize was instituted by the council of the NAS, to recognise personal/team scientific excellence of scientists and it is aimed at stimulating and rewarding excellence in science, technology and innovation. Fadeyi said, “ The prize is awarded to deserving scientists whose works made the most impact in furthering the frontiers of knowledge and has made significant contributions to mankind with particular reference to the national context, it is the highest honour that the academy would bestow on a Nigerian scientist. “Bello received the prize which included certificate, medal of recognition and a purse, from President of the Academy, Prof Motso Onuoha, in the presence of thousands of renowned scientists and an elated Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Prof Olufisayo Ologunde, who himself is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science Technology. “It was the third edition, but the second in Physical Sciences. Interestingly, he is a sole winner, not a joint winner as observed last year when the award was in the Life Sciences.” The university hailed Bello for the honour and recognition brought to it,.saying LAUTECH would continue to contribute to the expansion of frontiers of knowledge and would not stop making positive impacts in the lives of the people. https://okakasite.com/forums/topic/lautech-lecturer-wins-nigerian-academy-of-science-award/
