When God Is Silent In Times When We Need Him The Most by chinenye497: 6:39pm On Nov 17, 2020
My pastor always says that when we ask God for something, He says YES, NO, or WAIT. God’s timing is not the same as our timing. But one thing I know for sure is that God’s time is the best.

When God is silent, it is not because he is not aware of what we are going through or because he does not want to help. They are many reasons why God may be silent in times when we need him.

One of the reasons why God is silent is that he wants us to wait for a little while. These are one of the ways that God teaches us patience. Maybe you are not a patient person, so it could be that he wants to teach you patience.

Another reason could be that you are not mature enough to handle what you are requesting.

Just imagine a scenario whereas a Christian, you ask God for a car at the peak of your youth, probable your motive is to use it and enjoy life with your friends, and God says to wait until you are mature enough to own a car. Because at that time, all you are thinking about cruising with your friends instead of thinking about better things. And then a friend of yours gets a car, and you feel disappointed.

Now, this friend of yours gets an accident a few months later and dies. Then a few years later, God answers your prayer and gives you a car. Would you not be grateful to God that he didn’t grant your request earlier?

When God says WAIT, it could be for one month, six months, one year, or even twenty years. Now there’s nothing anyone can do to change God’s timing. All you have to do is to WAIT.

Imagine a scenario where your ten-year-old son comes to you and request a car. Would you buy him a car simply because he asked for it and you can afford it, and you do not want him to be sad? Your guess is as good as mine. Would you not rather say to him, son, you have to wait until you are old enough to own a car, then l’ ll get one for you? That’s the way it is with God.

Now when God says YES to your prayers, you see it manifest immediately. That is when you see people give testimonies about what God did for them.

In the same vein, when God says No, his No is No, and you cannot make him change that no matter how you pray and fast concerning that situation.

The second reason may be that he does not want you to have what you are requesting. So he says, no, my child, I can not give you what you are asking for because it will harm you in the future. And because we do not listen when God speaks, we do not know that he has said no. So we assume that he has refused to grant our request.

Then again, imagine another scenario where you see your six months old baby crawling towards a hot iron which you have just finished using. Then you quickly get there and take the iron away. Then he starts crying. Would you give him that hot iron simply because you want him to stop crying? You already know the answer to that, because you know that that he would cry even more when the iron burns him, not only that, you will spend money to treat him and the scar may never leave.

That’s the way it is with God. When we ask for something that he knows will destroy us in the future, he will never give it to us no matter how we cry.

The third reason why God may be silent is that he is testing our faith in him. He wants to see how we will react in certain situations. Just like in the case of Abraham when he made him wait for twenty-five years before giving him a child.

The fourth reason is that God is preparing you for greatness. Just like in the case of Joseph, when his master’s wife tried to seduce him and lied against him and was sent to prison over a crime that he did not commit.

So we have to learn to understand God’s principles. Whenever we ask God for something, we have to know if his response is YES, NO, or WAIT. That way, we will not be angry with God whenever we ask him for something, and he does not answer.

The funny thing is; I could be praying to a stone or a dog and the possibile answers would be exactly the same three (Yes, No or Wait).

It doesn't still nullify the statement. God created the Earth and he does what he pleases and sees fit.

He's the God of all the Earth not just Christians but he's a Father to all who are in Christ.

So you did nothing to negate what was written.

You did nothing to prove the authenticity of your claims.

You only just regurgitated some superstitious nonsense you have been indoctrinated with. Provide the evidence for your ridiculous claims and I might take you a tad more seriously.

Provide evidence to disprove my claims, sir.

Surely, you can indulge me by providing me sufficient evidence to disprove my "superstitious nonsense". That shouldn't be too hard now, should it?

Since you have concluded with all the evidence at your disposal that I have been indoctrinated with it.

Damn it Christians are y'all really that dumb? Re read my last reply to you.

I do not have any obligation to provide evidence for your nonsensical claims. The onus is on you. Read this as many times as you need to.

If you believe that your god wants you to be patient, it sees your heart and that it has a plan for you, then stop praying. It's as simple as that.
These are the same clowns praying for Trump's reelection.

You forgot the same God says we should pray, i guess the devourer has devoured that portion of your brain. Are you deceived to think the millions of people supporting, voting for and praying for Biden are all atheists and non-christians?

Well sir, do you believe there is a God or not?
By God here, I mean a pre-existing being outside of space-time and matter who created everything we know & understand in our world.

Hypothetically speaking, if a God exists how else should he respond to prayers ?

If a god like the Christian god exists, with all its characteristics and abilities ( as described by the Christians), then one wouldn't need to pray to it, and it'll work in order to fulfill the needs of people, since it knows their heart desires.
If you're omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, there's no need telling you or begging you on what to do.

So you base your opinions of the Christian God solely on what they say he is and not what he is?

And my question wasn't really about Yahweh.

Yes, I base my opinions based on what the worshippers of this god says it is, because the god itself isn't the one doing the talking, neither is it doing the explanations...

And my question wasn't really about Yahweh.

Which of the gods then?

Which of the gods then?

You prejudice seems to have preceded their statements.

Seeing how crucial and relevant the question of his (non) existence is, does it not seem illogical to base the conclusions of the worshippers of this God as absolute with first checking the veracity of their claims with its constituted authority?

Secondly, I was asking about any God. Like a perfect God.

When a group of people make up a character and attribute certain traits or personalities to it, is it illogical to examine/criticize this supposed character based on the claims made by these same group of people that made it up?

And also, let us know which god you're talking about, as every god worshipper claims that their god is perfect.

Everything that we know as part of reality exists between the "limits" of space and time. Anything outside the space time concept; is something man cannot comprehend, interact with or use for anything, in anyway whatsoever.

A god outside of space and time is the same as a god that does not exist.

Where's your evidence FOR it?

You don't get to make claims without any evidence and ask other people to provide evidence against it when you yourself provided none to begin with. It just doesn't work that way.

The burden of proof lies on the claimant. I have said this to you many times, but it seems you christians have trouble grasping simple concepts.

If you can't provide evidence for your claims don't even bother replying. I'm not ready for your mental gymnastic and proof evasion tactics.

The evidence is simply that because God is good, you oftentimes get what you requested or even that which you did not ask.

If He was Not Good and yet in Charge, Surely, like Buhari and co have shown you, you will get Nothing!

Your Prayers and Request and Petitions will never be Answered, But This is Not So With God for He Giveth Good Gifts and From oftentimes He grants the requests of all, even those that hate Him, By His Good Policy of "Do Good to All, Do Good to even those who hate you"

That is the Evidence!

You have the reasoning of a corn dog.

How would the evidence for a claim: "God created the universe" be "God is good."

That's the most ridiculous response I have ever heard from a theist in a long time. It's like saying I have a dragon-like dog in my backyard and when asked to provide evidence for my claims I reply with "well my dragon-like dog can fly."

You sound like you have no idea how we classify things as evidence or how we would go on presenting it. Your argumentative skills are a total disgrace.
