Arsenal has vowed to invite the police and work with relevant authorities following death threats and racial abuse of players, Nicolas Pepe and Ezgjan Alioski online.

The two had clashed in the match between Leeds and Arsenal’s main flashpoint, when Pepe, 25, was issued red card for a headbutt on Alioski, 28, Ghanasoccernet reports.

Following this, some fans turned to disgusting abuse and vent their frustrations.

An Arsenal statement on the issue read, “We utterly condemn the vile abuse directed at Nicolas Pepe and Ezgjan Alioski on social media following our match against Leeds United.

“This is completely unacceptable and we will be working with the police and authorities to do everything we can to trace and prosecute the culprits.”
