The Real Devil Is Bet Naija...... Story Of A Friend by dogmax(m): 10:38am On Nov 24, 2020

Bet9ja; THE REAL DEVIL ITSELF.

Some people are swallowing snake, fasting for a whole year, dining with monsters all because they wanted to see devil when they could easily locate any bet9ja shop in their area and see the real devil, in form of computers and television, especially that thing called virtual, that's the odogwu devil himself.

Only those who have one way or the other had experience with bet9ja will understand fully what I'm saying.

When you're staking on real football matches, you're still kinda safe, but when you graduate to VIRTUAL (odogwu devil itself), you're finished.

In every bet9ja shop, their are three categories of people, the Cashiers, those ones are the workers staking games, then we have the watchers and chargers, this ones are just there only to watch TV and charge their phones nothing else, and lastly is the stakers, those ones that are playing the real koko, most time you'll see them sweating even if they install hundred ac inside the shop.

Chukwudi Yagazie a trader at Ladipo Market shares his regrettable bet9ja experience with me. Read his views.

"I have a painful and hypnotic experience when I started to play virtual, chai!, I really suffered , if I have any cash with me, i won't know how I'll find myself inside bet9ja shop and virtual will collect everything.
It got to a stage, I wasn't eating again, my head was now getting bigger than my body, my leg was getting thinner, my ribs was now looking like 2by2 plank. People thought I was having kwashiorkor not knowing it was virshiorkor.

I decided to stop playing and searched for a good paying job so that I will have something to keep me busy and in shape.

I got a job and my eye was finally off bet9ja as my job kept me busy from morning till night.

In the lapse of thirty days , I didn't set my feet anywhere closer to the bet9ja shop not until month finally end and I received my salary of twenty five thousand naira.

It was on Saturday and I was very happy, on my way back home in the night, I withdrew five thousand naira from an ATM machine, bought a meal of five hundred naira in a takeaway and went home.

I ate the food that night and slept off. I woke up the next day which was Sunday at few minutes past ten. I was already late for church so I didn't bother myself going again. i only stood up, brushed my teeth, wore one casual cloth , took my wallet and went outside with the intention of going to market to get some foodstuffs from which I wanted to prepare my breakfast and also be eating from small small till it get exhausted.

Their was no way I will get to the market without passing in front of the Bet9ja shop in my area but I already made up my mind, even if they use juju, I was sure it cannoh work on me.

As I got closer to the bet9ja shop, I engaged in a discussion with my mind in order to distract myself, you know those kinda thought that you'll be having and you won't know when you get to where you're going.

I was already doing well when I suddenly heard two guys discussing behind me.

" so that's how that guy just won 120k like that, wonderful " I heard one of the guy said.
I left my mind to be talking with itself as my ears got erected.

" did you not hear about another guy that won 70k yesterday too from virtual " the second guy asked.

I took note of where I was and that was when I realize that I was directly opposite of the bet9ja shop.

" you can also go inside, I'm sure you'll win " I heard a voice said to me.

" no, they'll just collect my innocent four thousand naira from me " I replied the voice as I kept on walking.

" they can't win you, people are now winning them, just go inside and if they take five hundred naira from you without you winning, you'll stop and leave " the voice said to me.

" only five hundred naira oo " I said to the voice.

" yes my nigga, trust me " the voice said to me.
If only I had known that it was the devil's voice that I was hearing.

I took a U turn and entered the shop.

Only those who play this thing will understand this, in every bet9ja shop, their are always some guys at the counter that bet9ja have collected all their money but they'll refuse to leave. They'll be waiting for someone that has money to play and will be teaching the person on which game to play so that when the person win, he'll tip them.

I entered the shop feeling like a big man and went down to the counter .

" una go collect "I said in my mind as I staked my first game and I won almost one thousand naira.

I smiled as I collected my money.

" shebi I told you, you're going to wreck them today " the voice said to me.

I staked my next game with over five hundred naira and boom I lost it.

I played again and lost but I was still calm.
I played another one and lost again . That was when the set of people i said are always at the counter started giving me different games to stake and before I knew it, almost three thousand naira is gone. I started sweating from inside as I was feeling headache in my bum bum.
It was like someone was tampering with the computers and stationed it mainly for me to be losing.
In the lapse of twenty minutes, my four thousand five hundred naira had disappeared.

" oga we get POS oo " the guy playing the game for me said when he noticed that I was out of cash.

I brought out my ATM card and withdrew 5k. The only thought in my head is to wim back my 4,5k and leave. I no they do again.

I didn't heed to what the guys beside me were predicting again and played plainly from my mind but I still lost and the one they predicted won.
My God, waris this na!
I used their prediction on my next game and abandoned what my mind is telling me, my own prediction that I didn't play enter while their own lost.

" Is this not a juju something " I asked in my mind as I was already feeling dizzy.

The next game, I used both of our prediction and still lose again.

After one hour plus, my bank account was already in mourning stage, all the money is gone, my life almost followed it too.

It was na remaining only #50 in my hand. I was feeling hot and cold at the same time.
I was imagining what would have happened if I had woken up early and gone to church, if I had not listen to the voice.
My hard earned salary. It was that day that I knew that someone can be dead and alive at the same time. I was hearing whispering of my ancestors reminding me of the kind of hunger that will kill me.

I sat down with the people watching movie and was watching movie with them.
The film was comedy but I found myself crying.

" why are you crying when everyone is laughing " the guy sitting beside me asked.

" it's tears of joy " I replied crying more.

I couldn't leave the shop till they closed in the night.

On my way back home, I bought Akara fifty naira and ate it.

It was that day I knew that when you're restless, you'll be feeling energetic in the night.
I couldn't shut my eye as my head was turning on it own.

It was 1 am in the night that I carried all my chairs and clothes outside and started washing them, some of my neighbors came to ask me if anything is wrong but I told them that I'm alright.

I bathed like seven times before it was morning.

Till now, I'm still planning my payback, the day I'll have like one hundred thousand naira and go and win back all the money they collected from me, it will even shock the devil that day.
Givenjo, ur laff master

Virtual is a bad addiction.
I can never forget what it did to me till I had to stop. I don't even near betshop with more than N500. I will first eat a plate of food N300 and use the remaining N200 for normal bet.

I cannot afford to be hearing my neighbours plate sounding funny in my ear while I am dieing of hunger in my room.
