It is sad. The decision caught me unaware. I wish they reverse their decision as soon as possible

Fingers crossed...the funny thing about the whole merry go round...years ago sallumlines was known for carrying cars with overload with no issues apart from they barely have spaces....always fully booked and only two voyages per month...
Grimaldi was there more voyages and slightly cheaper but less patronage...

Fast-forward Grimaldi put Sallaumlines out of jobs from hamburg port due to low patronage ...sallaum stopped carrying loadedcars and finally left hamburg...Grimaldi now doing same...same fate for Nmt ....they all come and leave..

A major event that lead to this idea of not carrying loaded Vehicles is the accident that the Grimaldi Line had with the Ship Grande America that sank off the Coast of France with over 2000 Vehicles , Hundreds of containers and other consignment in March 2019. It all started with Fire in one of the Vehicles which the Crew members where not able to extinguish. The shipping line dont want to take another risk.

You are partly right....what they did after the fire was ban loaded cars....offcourse customers reacted....they removed the ban and now allowed only cars loaded moderately or strictly inside the boot strick declaration of what is inside...what caused sudden prohibition of goods was by German government ....and new guidelines...I will attach a link
