The Kano State Hisbah Board has put to a halt, the planned holiday clearance sales tagged “Black Friday” by a radio station in the state.

The ban was contained in a notice to management of the radio Cool FM 96.9 Kano, dated November 26, obtained by Igbere TV.

The religious police warned the station that the demography of the state’s residents is predominantly Muslim, hence considers “Friday as Holy Day.”

The Hisbah corps subsequently demanded an immediate retraction of the “Black Friday” tag.

It added that the religious squad “will be around for surveillance purposes with a view to avoiding occurrence of any immoral activities” in the state.

If the wings of the Hisbah Police is not clipped on time and their excesses not curbed, they might grow into a rogue outfit soon that the state govt may not be able to control.

Even if the organizers changed it to White Friday or Green Sunday, they'll still find a fault in it.

It's as if the north don't even care about it's people. They place a foreign religion above their fellow Africans.

I'm sure some people where anticipating the black Friday sales for the whole year.

I think we need to set out a strategy to dissolve religious extremism in the north and in the east.

@ the emboldened, real igbos in the east are not religious extremists, that is why you find them doing business anywhere including Islamic countries.

The rather unfortunate animals called ipob pigs are the deranged criminals giving igbos bad names. Reason being that the waywardness and criminality in them are vehemently condemned by Islam. The real igbos Christians don't find Islamic preaching offensive.

If not ipob lunatics, who else agrees with nudity and robbery?
