Students honour Ogun Council Chair, Shomide, with Political Icon Award


The Transition Committee Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government in Ake, Ogun State, Hon. Ayodeji Michael Shomide, has been awarded as a Political Icon of the year 2020 conferred by the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Ogun State Axis.

The Award, according to NANS Chairman Ogun State Axis, Comrade Bamgbose Tomiwa, was based on the good leadership of Shomide whose passionate professional capabilities, patriotism and commitment towards youths'/students' developmental projects in the local government, Ogun State and Nigeria.

The presentation of the Award was conducted by the NANS president Ogun State Axis, Comrade Bamgbose who initially had extolled the diligence of the Council Chairman on the resilient drives in paddling the canoe of the Premier local government.

In his remarks, the Secretary to the local government, Alhaji Nurudeen Ayorinde expressed pleasure for the recognition.

He promised NANS of the council's support that will bring more developments to both the NANS and the society and advised them to shun social vices that may want to crawl into the Association.

Hon. Shomide commended appreciation the. association for the honour and charged the member to always remain vanguard of the nation as it was.

Others in attendance were the Vice Chairman; Mr. Samod Olanrewaju and the Head of Local Government Administration; Mrs. Bukonla Adeniregun and Information Officer, Kolawole Sodeinde.
